Baking is an under appreciated talent of the air fryer. Make banana bread using one round pan or 2 small mini loaf pans.

- Spray baking pan(s) with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Preheat air fryer to 305-310-degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, almond flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl mix sugar, buttermilk, egg, vanilla, canola oil and mashed banana.
- Add wet ingredients to dry and gently fold until completely combined.
- Pour batter into pan(s) and top with sliced banana and sprinkle with sanding sugar, if using.
- Transfer pan(s) to the fryer basket. Cook for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the bread(s). Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before removing from the pan(s).

Baking banana bread is much quicker in an air fryer, thanks to the convection-like heat and the need for less batter. Make this round loaf your everyday breakfast go-to: The wheat germ adds a little extra fiber and whole-grain toastiness to your morning.

- Spray a 7-inch round air-fryer insert, metal cake pan or foil pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
- Whisk together the flour, wheat germ, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl. Mash the bananas until very smooth in a separate medium bowl. Add the granulated sugar, oil, yogurt, vanilla and egg to the banana and whisk until smooth. Sift the dry ingredients over the wet and fold together with a spatula until just combined. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the top of the batter with the turbinado sugar if desired, for a crunchy, sweet topping.
- Put the pan in a 3.5-quart air fryer and cook at 310 degrees F, turning the pan halfway through, until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the bread comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Transfer the pan to a rack to cool for 10 minutes. Unmold the banana bread from the pan and let cool completely on the rack before slicing into wedges to serve.

- Preheat air fryer to 325°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 3-4 minutes. Beat in egg. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, beating well after each addition. Fold in pecans., Transfer to a greased 8-in. round baking pan that will fit in the air fryer. Cover with foil. Cook 25 minutes. Uncover; cook until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 8-10 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
