NANNY'S COCA COLA SALAD
This is one of the many recipes from my Grandmother's cookbook. She passed away in May of 2005. I am recording her wonderful recipes for my family and the many generations that will follow. I hope you enjoy her recipes as much as we do. I have not made each one yet so cooking time and servings may not be posted on some. Blessings from FOURMRANCHWIFE in Texas.

Steps:
- Drain pineapple and cherries; reserve juice.
- Heat 1-1/2 cups of reserved juice; most of the 1-1/2 cups should be pineapple juice and just a little cherry juice.
- Dissolve Jell-O in heated juice; add softened cream cheese; whip.
- Add pineapple, cherries, and pecans.
- Stir in Cola.
- Chill until firm.
- The ounce sizes are guesses; it is the big can of cherry and pineapple; the Jell-O is the small box. When I make it I will look at sizes and edit.
GRAPE-NUTS CUSTARD IN NANNY'S MEMORY
My nanny passed away when I was 10 years of age though one of my fondest memories is of her grapenut custard and how it was a staple in her home. If it was not just a visit but a family dinner at her house, it always came out with a dollop of whipped cream on top. I have been making this for years and cannot help but remember my nanny and smile with each bite. I like it best without the whipped cream and cold from the fridge just like it always was a nanny's house. This recipe gives a nice caramelized almost crisp top and a soft velvety interior. c.2007

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine the cereal, salt and milk while preparing the remainder.
- Grease with butter a 2.5 qt casserole dish.
- In a small bowl or 2 cup measuring cup combine the eggs, vanilla and sugar. Mix until thoroughly combined and emulsified.
- Pour the cereal and milk mixture into a mixing bowl and add the egg and sugar mixture. Stir well though do not allow to get overly foamy.
- Pour into the greased casserole and bake 60 minutes. This is done when a knife inserted halfway from the edge to the middle comes out clean.
- Do not attempt to overbake, it will appear underdone in the middle. Carry over cooking will handle that. Overcooked and it makes a nice albeit sweet hockey puck!

NANNY'S GRAPE SALAD
Beautiful on the table, refreshing side dish or light dessert, perfect for a brunch or wedding or baby shower. For years it has been a must-have tradition at our Thanksgiving dinner. May be served immediately, but best if refrigerated for a few hours or overnight.

Steps:
- Place pecans in a skillet over medium-low heat; cook and stir until pecans are toasted and fragrant, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into a heatproof bowl; stir to prevent nuts from overcooking.
- Beat sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract together with an electric mixer in a bowl until smooth. Fold in pecans and grapes. Stir gently until grapes are coated.

Steps:
- Combine all accept vanilla and cook on low heat until very thick. Stir often to prevent scorching. Remove from heat- let sit a minute or two and stir in vanilla.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Top with meringue and bake as directed.

Instructions. In a pan, pour the juice from the cans of pineapple and cherries. When it is hot enough to bubble, add the Jell-O. Stir slowly until liquefied. Mix in the cream cheese.
