Turkey Breast Of Wonder (Crock Pot) Recipe - (4.1/5) image

Steps:

  • 1. Make sure your turkey is completely thawed. I let mine hang out in the fridge for a couple of days after I purchase it frozen. Set it on a pan, so you don't have juices running all over when you open up the bag. Cut a hole in the top of the bag and remove the packaging. Some turkey breasts come with a gravy pouch inside, be sure to remove it if yours happens to come with one. 2. Place the whole bird in the crock pot. 3. Pour yourself 1/2 cup of orange juice. Add one can whole berry Cranberry sauce and one package Lipton Onion Soup mix. 4. Mix the ingredients together and pour them over the top of the bird. 5. Sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper over the top. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 8-9 hours, or until a meat thermometer stuck into the center of the bird reads 180 degrees. 6. Remove the turkey breast to a plate and cover it with tin foil. Let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then carve it (or shred it) up and enjoy.

  • Rinse the turkey breast and pat dry. Cut off any excess skin, but leave the skin covering the breast. Rub onion soup mix all over outside of the turkey and under the skin. Place in a slow cooker. Cover, and cook on High for 1 hour, then set to Low, and cook for 7 hours.

  • Place turkey breast into a slow cooker. Combine butter, whipped cream cheese spread, soy sauce, parsley, basil, sage, thyme, black pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl until smooth. Brush herb mixture over the turkey breast. Cover slow cooker.

Steps:

  • Rinse turkey breast and pat dry with paper towels; sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Place 2 rosemary sprigs, 2 thyme sprigs, 1/4 cup chopped onion, and butter slices into turkey breast cavity.
  • Place celery leaves, remaining white onion, and remaining rosemary and thyme sprigs into a large slow cooker. Lay turkey breast over vegetables and herbs with the top facing down. Pour white wine into cooker and cover.
  • Cook on High until meat is tender and an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast meat reads 170 degrees (75 degrees C), about 6 hours. Let turkey breast rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

  • Use paper towels to pat the turkey VERY dry, so that the herb butter sticks better. Rub the butter all over the top and sides of the turkey breast. (It's ok if it doesn't fully spread, just pat it down as best you can.)
  • Grease the bottom of the slow cooker with more butter. Place the onion inside and pour the chicken broth over it. (The onion will help keep the turkey raised.) Place the turkey breast on top of the onion.
  • Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high, until internal temperature reaches at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C) inside (it will rise another 5 degrees during broiling and resting). If you can, lift the lid about an hour into cooking and use a pastry brush to spread the herb butter more evenly over the top and sides of the turkey. (Don't use melted butter from the beginning because it will all drip off the cold turkey.)
