Baked Sesame Chicken With Sweet & Sour Sauce image

Steps:

  • Combine sesame seed, bread crumbs, onion powder and pepper in shallow pan or plate.
  • Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray then add butter remove from heat and stir in soy sauce.
  • Coat both sides of chicken, 1 piece at a time, with butter mixture, then with sesame seed mixture.
  • Arrange chicken, side by side, in foil-lined baking pan.
  • Bake in 375 degree oven 20 minutes, or until no longer pink in center.
  • Meanwhile, combine sweet & Sour sauce, brown sugar and 3 Tbl water in small saucepan. Cook, stirring, over medium heat until mixture boils.
  • Remove from heat stir in sesame oil.
  • Serve sauce with chicken.

Baked Chicken with Toasted Sesame Seeds image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a shallow dish combine the sesame seeds, flour, salt and cayenne to taste. Dredge the chicken in the mixture, gently patting the coating onto it. In a large skillet, heat the butter and oil over moderate heat until hot. Add the chicken and cook it for 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Transfer chicken to a platter. Add the flour to the skillet and cook it for 2 minutes. Add the chicken stock and cream and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring. Simmer the mixture until lightly thickened and season with the mustard and salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the chicken in a buttered baking dish, spoon the sauce over it and sprinkle with the bread crumbs. Bake, covered, with foil, for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 to 15 minutes more.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Place soy sauce in a 9x13 inch baking dish. On a piece of wax paper, mix together the sesame seeds, flour, salt and pepper. Dip the chicken pieces in the soy sauce to coat, then dredge in the sesame seed mixture. Arrange in baking dish in a single layer, then drizzle with melted butter.

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Make the sweet-and-sour sauce: Whisk the ketchup, marmalade, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger and cayenne in a small bowl. Put the bell peppers and scallions on a rimmed baking sheet and toss with 2 tablespoons of the prepared sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil and a pinch of salt.
  • Heat the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the chicken with 1/2 teaspoon salt.   • Sift flour, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, baking soda, and baking powder into a bowl. Pour in low-sodium soy sauce, sherry, 2 tablespoons water, vegetable oil, and a dash of sesame oil; stir until smooth. Stir in chicken until coated with the batter, then cover, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring chicken broth, sugar, vinegar, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, chile paste, and garlic to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Dissolve 1/4 cup cornstarch into 1/2 cup of water, and stir into boiling sauce. Simmer until the sauce thickens and turns clear, about 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and keep sauce warm.

  • Place chicken parts in a foil lined 9x13 glass baking dish.
  • Throw carrots and potatoes on top.
  • Squeeze butter over top. About 2-4 tablespoons.

Steps:

  • Quarter onions, cut carrots into one inch pieces, (I used baby carrots, about 12).
  • Seed, core and cut green peppers into one inch chunks.
  • Scatter all veggies in a roasting pan with a lid, cover and roast at 400f degrees for 15 minutes.
  • In a large shallow dish,combine flour, salt and pepper.
  • Press chicken legs into flour mixture to coat all over.
  • In a large non stick frypan heat 1 tablespoon oil, over medium high heat.
  • Brown chicken in batches, adding remaining oil when necessary, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Arrange on top of veggies in roaster.
  • Whisk together, in a measuring cup, orange juice,honey, soy sauce, tomato paste, corn starch and garlic.
  • Pour over chicken and veggies.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray the foil with cooking spray.

  • To Prepare Chicken: Remove giblets and set aside for another use. Rinse chicken in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Pull front skin down over neck cavity and tuck under chicken. Fold wings under breast, and tie legs and tail together securely with kitchen twine or string.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
