CRANBERRY CREAM CHEESE CRESCENT ROLLS

These stuffed crescent rolls will be fantastic served at a holiday meal. As you bite into the croissant, warm cream cheese and cranberry sauce ooze from the center. They'd be a lovely light dessert, a treat for breakfast, or delicious alongside the meal itself. This recipe is perfect to assign to the young cooks in your family....

Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven according to can. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  • 2. Add a teaspoon of cream cheese to each triangle.
  • 3. Next, add a teaspoon of cranberry.
  • 4. Roll up the triangles into a crescent roll shape.
  • 5. Place on a lined baking sheet 1" apart.
  • 6. Bake according to directions on the can.

2 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls in tubes
1 can(s) whole or jellied cranberry sauce, 14 oz
1 pkg cream cheese, 8 oz

Cranberry, Ham and Swiss Crescent Rolls image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut along the perforated lines to separate it into individual triangles. Arrange each triangle on a work surface with the short side closest to you.
  • Place about 1 teaspoon cranberry sauce on each triangle and use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly over the dough, leaving 1 inch of the tip bare. Place a piece of ham on the short side of the dough on top of the cranberry sauce and top with a slice of cheese. Wrap the sides of the ham over the short ends of the cheese to keep it intact.
  • Start from the short side of the dough and roll it up and over to encase the ham and cheese. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is slightly oozing, about 15 minutes.
  • Transfer to a serving platter and serve with Dijon mustard.

One 8-ounce tube refrigerated crescent-roll dough
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons cranberry sauce
8 slices Black Forest ham
8 slices Swiss cheese, cut from the short side of a rectangular block, each about 1/4 inch thick
Dijon mustard, for serving

  • Open crescent roll tube, but do not unroll dough. Cut into 8 even slices, as if you are slicing a loaf of bread. Place crescent rounds flat on prepared baking sheets and use the bottom of a small cup to make an indent in the center of each pastry.
  • Fill each round with a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture. Top with a heaping teaspoon of cranberry sauce. Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let pastries cool 5 minutes.
