Steps:

  • Put chicken broth, potatoes, salt and pepper in crock pot.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours or until potatoes are soft.
  • Mash the potatoes to desired consistency.
  • Add milk and cheese and blend.
  • Cook on high until cheese melts.

Steps:

  • Wash and prepare vegetables as directed.
  • Place vegetables in crock pot and add enough water to cover the vegetables. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours, or until vegetables are tender.
  • An hour before serving, melt 1/2 cup butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add flour and mix well.
  • Uncover vegetables and using a measuring cup, measure out 2 - 3 cups of the water from the Crock pot. Add these 2 - 3 cups of water to the flour and butter mixture on the stove top.
  • If you only added 2 cups of water from the cooked vegetables, add 1 more additional cup of water.(To get the broth to your ideal consistency, you may need to add additional water or not add as much).
  • Add chicken bouillon cubes to butter/flour/water mixture and dissolve well.
  • Finally, add 8 ounces of Cheese Whiz to the mixture and mix till melted.
  • Pour entire mixture carefully into the crock pot and cover and cook on high for at least 45 minutes.
  • Serve with crusty French Bread.

  • In a large Pot put the water, boullin, and onion.
  • Cover and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • Then add the potatoes and frozen vegetables (I diced mine very small with a food chopper).
  • Cover and cook on medium for another 20 minutes.
  • Then turn down the heat to low and add the soup, milk and cheeses (cut into small chunks).
  • Stir until the cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion in butter until translucent. Stir in flour until smooth, then gradually stir in 2 cups water, carrots, celery, garlic, salt, and pepper. Heat through, then stir in milk. Dissolve chicken base in 1 cup warm water, and pour into vegetable mixture.
  • Place potatoes in slow cooker, and pour heated vegetable mixture into potatoes. Place bay leaf in pot.
  • Cover, and cook 5 hours on High, or 8 hours on Low.
  • Remove bay leaf. Puree about 4 cups of the soup in a blender or food processor, and then stir pureed soup into contents of slow cooker. Stir in cheese and bacon until cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Dice the peeled potatoes into about 3/4" pieces.
  • Place the diced potatoes in a pot with the 4 cups of chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until potatoes are nice and tender.
  • While potatoes cook, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Add the chopped green onion and sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Whisk the flour, celery seeds and paprika into the butter/green onions and stir constantly until a smooth paste. Gradually stir in the ff half and half. Stir frequently until mixture begins to thicken.
  • Add the hot cooked potatoes and both into the creamy mixture; stir well.
  • With a slotted spoon remove 1 or 2 cups of the potatoes and set them aside.
  • Use a stick blender or blender or food processor to blend the soup in the pot.
  • Return the blended mixture and reserved 1 or 2 cups of potatoes to the pot.
  • Stir in the cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Stir and cook (but do NOT allow to boil) until cheese is melted smooth and well-mixed.
  • Serve.
  • Garnish with some green onion tops, if desired.

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels; reserve drippings in the pan. Crumble 6 strips of bacon, saving 3 for garnish.
  • Heat bacon drippings over medium-high heat. Cook onion in the hot drippings until soft, about 5 minutes.
