HEATH BAR BROWNIES
These brownie bars have bits of heath English-toffee in them and are so yummy! Wonderful on the holiday cookie tray, or anytime. From Bon Appetit, September 2004.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Stir butter and chocolate in a heavy small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Cool to lukewarm.
- Whisk flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl to blend.
- Using electric mixer, beat sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until thick and billowy, about 3 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture, then flour miture. Fold in pecans. Transfer to pan.
- Bake until puffed and a tester inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, about 28 minutes.
- Sprinkle brownies with chopped toffee bars. Cool in pan on rack. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover; store at room temperature.) Cut into squares.

This is a rich and cool dessert. I like to make this in the summer time for all events. This is also good using chocolate pudding and chocolate ice cream.

Steps:
- Mix graham crackers, soda crackers and margarine.
- Put 2/3 of crumbs in a 9x13 pan.
- Beat pudding mix and milk.
- Add ice cream and mix well.
- Pour over crumbs in pan.
- Chill until firm.
- Spread Cool Whip over top.
- Crush candy bars and mix with remaining crumbs.
- Sprinkle on top of Cool Whip.
- Chill.

- Preheat the oven to 350 º F (or according to your directions.). Line an 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper.
- Make your brownie mix according to directions. Add 2/3 of the package of Heath Toffee bits into the mixture. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 26-28 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.
- To make the ganache, place the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring just to a boil and then add in the chocolate chips. Do not stir right away. Wait 2-3 minutes and then stir the chip mixture until it is smooth. Spread the ganache mixture over thee cooled brownies. Sprinkle the remainder of the Heath Toffee Bits over the ganache. Let the the ganache cool and then cut the brownies into 12 squares.
