HONEY MAPLE GRANOLA

This is my favorite granola recipe adapted from the joy of baking website. It's not too sweet, and tastes great with a variety of nuts and dried fruit. Makes a great gift!

Honey Maple Granola image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine rolled oats, coconut, nuts, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl stir together oil, maple syrup and honey.
  • Pour liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and stir together.
  • Spread onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for approx 20-25 minutes (stirring occasionally).
  • The longer you bake it the crunchier the granola will be. It may still be sticky when it comes out of the oven, but it will become crisp and dry as it cools.
  • Place baking sheet on a wire cooling rack.
  • Once cooled, mix in the dried fruit and store in an airtight container or plastic bag in the refrigerator.
  • It will keep for several weeks.

3 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
1 cup nuts, chopped (I like a mixture of almonds, pecans, cashews, and sunflower seeds)
1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon (I use 1 teaspoon)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup dried fruit (I like a mixture of cranberries, raisins, chopped apples and apricots)

20 MINUTE HONEY GRANOLA - EASY

This is a super easy granola recipe. It isn't overly sweet and is a real crowd-pleaser. It also makes your house smell fabulous for hours after you bake it. I normally add about 2 Tbsp. wheat germ and a tsp. brewers yeast to my dry ingredients - for nutritional value.

20 Minute Honey Granola - Easy image

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Combine oats, nuts, salt, cinnamon and flax in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Combine oil, honey and vanilla in another, smaller bowl.
  • Mix wet ingredients into dry - you may need to use your hands.
  • Then spread the mixture onto two cookie sheets lined with foil or parchment.
  • Bake 10 minutes. Then remove from oven and stir.
  • Bake an additional 10 minutes or until slightly golden.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  • When cooled, transfer into an airtight container for storage.

Honey crunch granola with almonds & apricots image

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. In a large pan, heat the honey and oil together until bubbling, then tip in the oats, almonds and cinnamon. Stir well until the oats are well coated, then tip onto 1-2 large baking sheets, spreading the mixture out. Bake for 20-25 mins, stirring halfway, until golden.
  • Remove from the oven and, while still hot, stir in the apricots. Spread out again and press down with a spatula to cool - this will help it to clump together. Once cool, serve with yogurt or milk, and fruit, if you like. Will keep in an airtight container for 3 weeks. See 'Goes well with' for recipes using your granola.

HONEY NUT GRANOLA

This granola is a great way to add healthy rolled oats and nuts to your diet. It is a great alternative to prepared cereals packed with sugar, hydrogenated oils and mystery ingredients. It can easily be adapted to include your preferred ingredients. My husband and I eat this often as a before-bed snack. I like it best served with bananas or strawberries and drenched with milk. I also like it over plain yogurt and fresh fruit. It is much easier to make using a large stainless steel bowl instead of the pan or cookie sheet that some recipes suggest. Please note that if you are looking for a very rich, sweet granola with clusters of oats, this recipe is not for you. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DRIED FRUIT MUST BE ADDED AFTER COOKING. Honey Nut Granola image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large oven-proof bowl or pan, melt butter in oven.
  • After butter is melted, add honey and cinnamon and mix well until cinnamon is dissolved into the honey and oil.
  • Add the oats, nuts, and coconut if desired.
  • Mix until the oats and nuts are well coated with honey and butter/oil.
  • Place in the oven for 30 minutes or until oats and nuts are well toasted, stirring frequently.
  • Allow to cool and add dried fruit and store in an airtight container. This stores for at least a month in the pantry and much longer in the refrigerator.
  • I generally triple or quadruple this recipe. Cooking time is considerably longer. Just make sure you stir at least every fifteen minutes.
  • Oil may be substituted for butter. Wheat germ can also be added but tends to make the texture grainy.

Steps:

  • Combine oats, raisins and coconut in a large bowl; mix well and set aside.
  • Combine honey, butter, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in a microwave proof bowl and cook in microwave until butter and honey are melted.
  • Stir together then pour over oat mixture and toss until well blended.
  • Spread on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • It will darken a little when it cools.
  • Stir half way through.
  • Remove and let cool.

Healthy Honey Nut Granola Bar image

Steps:

  • Directions.
  • Preheat oven to 325°F Lightly grease one 9x13 inch pan. (Can use parchment paper instead ).
  • In a large mixing bowl combine oats, brown rice cereal, soy flour, milled flax seed, wheat germ, cinnamon, baking soda, nuts, coconut and brown sugar. Mix well. In separate bowl mix vanilla, applesauce, flaxseed, honey and molasses. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir well. Recommended: Allow wet ingredients to set for a few minutes to allow flax to gel. Allow mix after completed to set to allow product to absorb moisture before baking.
  • Press mixture into the prepared pan. The more compact the chewier the bar. Bake at 325 F for about 20 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes, then cut into bars. Let bars cool completely in pan before removing or serving. (If too moist, place in warm oven for 15 minutes allow excess moisture to evaporate or reduce applesauce to by 1 oz.).
