A copycat from the menu of "Sizzler", which was a copycat of "Monterey Chicken", which was a copycat of "Chicken Cordon Bleu".... So copy away.

Steps:

  • Stir egg and 1 tablespoons water together with a fork.
  • Combine flour, salt and pepper and coat each chicken piece, dip into egg mixture and then coat with breadcrumbs making sure to press crumbs in firmly.
  • Heat oil and butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Brown chicken 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
  • Place browned chicken on cookie sheet or oven proof platter, top each piece with a slice of ham and slice of cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees, until cheese melts.
  • For the dipping sauce combine mustard and mayonnaise.

6 slices swiss cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup fine dry breadcrumb
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • Flatten chicken breasts to 1/4-in. thickness. Spread 1 tablespoon mustard over each; layer with ham, cheese and pineapple. Fold chicken over pineapple; secure with toothpicks. Brush bundles with remaining mustard., In a shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Roll bundles in bread crumb mixture; place in an 11x7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a thermometer reads 170°. Discard toothpicks., Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Serve with chicken.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spread 1 Tablespoon of mustard over each flattened chicken breast. Cover each with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese. Place a small amount of pineapple in the center of each.
  • Roll chicken, with the pineapple in the middle, and secure with toothpicks.
  • Brush the chicken with the remaining mustard.
  • Roll the chicken bundles in the bread crumbs, and place in a greased 9 x 9 inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes. Remove toothpicks before serving.
  • Combine the can of cream of chicken soup and sour cream in a small bowl. You can microwave the mixture until it's heated through, serve it cold, or warm it up in a small saucepan on medium low heat.Pour over chicken.

  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, milk, dill, salt and pepper until blended. Stir in the chicken, celery and onions. , Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 12 rectangles, four from each tube; place on a greased baking sheet and press the perforations together. Spoon 1/2 cup of chicken mixture into the center of each rectangle. Bring edges up to the center and pinch to seal. Brush with butter; sprinkle with bread crumbs. , Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
