Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Mix together the butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs in a mixing bowl.
  • Then add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Chill dough for about 30 minutes. Then roll into 1 1/4 inch balls.
  • In a separate bowl, mix 2 Tablespoons of sugar with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Roll dough balls in a cinnamon mixture.
  • Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 7 to 9 minutes until lightly browned, but still soft.
  • Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease.
  • Beat 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter, and eggs together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; stir into creamed butter mixture until dough holds together.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons white sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
  • Form dough into 2-teaspoon-size balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place dough balls, about 2 inches apart, on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven on the center rack for 7 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Add the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until everything is incorporated.
  • In another small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
  • Form the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place dough balls on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or lightly sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
  • Use the bottom of a glass and slightly flatten cookies.
  • Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with additional cinnamon/sugar mixture, then bake for 7-8 minutes. Do not over bake cookies.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Stir in the eggs. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. In a small bowl, stir together the 2 tablespoons of sugar, and the cinnamon. Roll dough into walnut sized balls, then roll the balls in the cinnamon-sugar. Place them onto an unprepared cookie sheet, two inches apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be slightly brown. Remove from sheets to cool on wire racks.

Sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar into a medium bowl. Set aside. Using a standing mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or a hand mixer, cream the butter for about 2 minutes or until pale yellow. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the ¾ cups sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon and the salt.
