Steps:

  • Place the first eight ingredients in a blender; cover and process until smooth. While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream. Transfer to a bowl or pitcher. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

Mustard potato salad image

Steps:

  • Cook the potatoes in a large pan of salted water until just tender, about 10-15 mins. Meanwhile, whisk together the olive oil, mustard and lemon juice in a large bowl. Drain the potatoes and leave to cool for 5 mins, then tip into the bowl along with the spring onions. Toss everything until the potatoes are well coated. Leave to cool. The dish will keep in a covered container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Mom's Mustard Style Potato Salad image

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, place in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
  • Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil; cover, remove from heat, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and chop.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the potatoes, eggs, onion, celery, relish and pimentos.
  • Blend together the mustard and salad dressing, add to salad and mix well. Sprinkle with paprika and refrigerate until chilled.

Steps:

  • Cook the potatoes in a pan of boiling salted water for 12-15 mins until just tender. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the mustard with the lemon zest and juice, and slowly whisk in the oil to form a smooth emulsion. Season to taste.
  • Drain the potatoes and tip into a large bowl. Drizzle over the dressing and gently mix. Leave to stand for 15 mins to allow the potatoes to absorb the flavours. To serve, stir the parsley and spring onions into the potatoes. Season to taste and serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Set a steamer basket in a large pot with a lid. Fill with enough water to come just below basket; bring to a boil. Place potatoes in basket; reduce heat to a simmer. Cover pot; steam, tossing potatoes occasionally, until tender, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, place lemon zest and juice; season with salt and pepper. Using tongs or a slotted spoon, transfer potatoes to bowl. With a rubber spatula, gently toss potatoes with lemon juice. Refrigerate until cool, at least 1 hour.
  • Toss herbs and oil with cooled potato mixture; season with salt and pepper. If storing, cover and refrigerate up to 1 day; bring to room temperature before serving.

New Potato and Bierwurst Salad With Mustard Cream Dressing image

Steps:

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water for 10-12 minutes or until just tender.
  • Drain and mix gently in a large bowl with the sliced red onion.
  • Season to taste and cool slightly.
  • Add your desired oil and vinegar dressing to potatoes and refrigerate for one hour or until chilled.
  • Meanwhile, chop the apple and mix with the lemon juice.
  • Mix into the potato along with the sausage and gherkins.
  • Beat the mayonnaise, mustard, sour cream and just enough milk to make a dressing the consistency of cream.
  • Stir this carefully into the salad, spoon into a serving dish and sprinkle with the chopped herbs.
  • It is best served only lightly chilled so remove it a good half an hour before serving.
  • Note: Dessert apples (or baking apples depending on your part of the country) include the varieties Rome, Jonagold, Granny Smith, Pippin, Gala, Braeburn, Northern Spy, Gravenstein, Rhode Island Greening, York Imperial, Cortland, Winesap. If you don't care for any of those, you could also use Golden Delicious, Empire, Red Delicious, Fuji, Criterion or Pink Lady.
