EGGNOG (SPIKED WITH RUM)
I was really never a fan of eggnog... until a friend gave me this proven recipe. It's simply the best! It's rich and creamy, just like melted vanilla ice cream. This makes almost a gallon and packs a punch... so drink responsibly.

HOMEMADE ROOT BEER
This Root beer is bound to be a hit at any gathering. It is very easy, ice cold and yummy. Use a large insulated drink cooler to brew it in, and everyone can help themselves using the spigot. This is best to do outdoors or place the cooler in the kitchen sink as it brews. Dry ice can be dangerous. Be sure to use gloves when handling. Do not allow children to handle the dry ice.

Steps:
- In a large cooler, mix together the sugar and water, stirring to dissolve sugar completely. Stir in the root beer extract. Carefully place the dry ice into the cooler, and cover loosely with the lid. Do not secure the lid, as pressure may build up.
- Let the mixture brew for about an hour before serving. Leftover root beer can be stored in one gallon milk jugs.

TRADITIONAL EGGNOG
A great traditional eggnog with brandy and dark rum. I found this recipe a few years back and have been making it around the holidays and giving it as gifts every year since. It usually goes pretty quick and a lot of my family and friends who say they don't like eggnog like this stuff!

- Separate the eggs and place the yolks in a bowl. The whites can be placed in another bowl, covered and refrigerated for use later in another recipe.
- Add sugar to the yolks and use a hand blender or whisk to whisk them together till pale and creamy.
- Heat milk and cream in a saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer. Now slowly whisk the milk mixture into the egg mixture. Make sure to add the milk mixture in a thin, steady stream so that you don't scramble the eggs. Keep whisking continuously till all the milk is whisked in.
- Transfer the mixture back to the saucepan and cook on medium heat till the eggnog thickens to your desired consistency. Keep stirring as it heats to keep it from sticking to the bottom.
