Steps:
- Wash the chicken under cold running water, pat dry and trim off any excess fat. Cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes and put into a large mixing bowl. Add the marinade ingredients to the bowl and stir to combine. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the sauce.
- To make the sauce: In a saucepan, add the sesame oil and set over low heat. Add the ginger and garlic and fry gently until fragrant, about 2 to 3 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the remaining sauce ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir well to dissolve the cornstarch. Gently pour into the saucepan with the fried ginger and garlic. Stir as you pour because the cornstarch will thicken up pretty quickly. Keep warm over low heat.
- In a heavy-bottomed pot or deep-fryer heat enough oil to come halfway up the sides of the pot, to 375 degrees F.
- Fry the chicken, in small batches, until golden and crispy, about 5 to 6 minutes. Remove the chicken using a wire mesh strainer and drain on paper towels. Season with a little salt, to taste. To serve, arrange the fried chicken on a platter and pour drizzle with the sauce. Sprinkle with a generous amount of toasted sesame seeds and garnish with scallions and cilantro sprigs.

BAKED SESAME CHICKEN
Open, sesame! This is a family favorite. For a variation, you can also use bone-in chicken pieces, but be sure to increase the cooking time in this case. Tip: To toast sesame seeds, place in a baking dish in a heated oven for about 5 to 10 minutes, watching carefully not to burn.

SESAME CHICKEN BITES WITH HONEY-MUSTARD SAUCE April 21, 2014 By Katya 6 Comments Sesame Chicken Bites with Honey-Mustard Sauce | littlebroken.com @littlebroken Happy Monday y'all! Hope you guys had a great Easter! I spent the weekend with my boys visiting both sides of our families in VA. It's always nice to get away, especially this time of the year, when everything is blooming and coming back to life to a place like VA, which is very country compared to our neck of the woods. Pace of life is much slower, backyards are much bigger, and people are definitely much nicer. I guess it's a southern thing? My co-worker said to never ask a southerner how they are doing unless you are prepared to literally hear them tell you "how they are doing" and it's so true! I love country folks :) Sesame Chicken Bites with Honey-Mustard Sauce | littlebroken.com @littlebrokenSesame Chicken Bites with Honey-Mustard Sauce | littlebroken.com @littlebroken Our Easter weekend consisted of little bit of four wheeling, dirk bike ridin' (boys of course), outside marshmallow roasting, easter egg hunting, and definitely ton of food. Oh, the food! Russians are all about food, so anywhere we went we were greeted with scrumptious spread of meats, salads, and sweets. But that's what holidays are all about, right? Overeating and spending time with loved ones? Definitely for me. I know I will be doing a little detoxifying after this weekend and if y'all like me and need a little pick me up there is always Green Detox Salad to get you going. Sesame Chicken Bites with Honey-Mustard Sauce | littlebroken.com @littlebroken I'm starting off the week with a simple, delicious, and kid friendly idea. Sesame Chicken Bites remind me of the famous Bang Bang Shrimp but only with chicken and minus the spiciness. Saucy on the inside and crispy on the outside, paired with homemade honey-mustard sauce. They pop so easily in your mouth as is or as a topping on your favorite salad. (all credits to littlebroken.com)
