  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Add 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, Romano, eggs, oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. , Press into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with spaghetti sauce. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella. Bake 10 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Pasta Bake with Meat Sauce & Cheese image

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, brown meat with onions and garlic in large skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium-high heat. Stir in pasta sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally. Stir in basil and crushed pepper.
  • Spread 3/4 cup meat sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Drain pasta; place in medium bowl. Add ricotta and half the remaining meat sauce; mix lightly. Spoon over meat sauce in baking dish; top with remaining meat sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until heated through. Let stand 10 min. before serving.

I made this this week and we all liked it. It's from The Big Book of Casseroles by Maryana Vollstedt. I substituted ground chicken for the beef,used linquini, and upped the herbs to a half teaspoon each.The pasta absorbs the sauce while baking so it is really tasty.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to *350.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute meat, onion, mushrooms and garlic ( I added the mushrooms later with the sauce) until meat is no longer pink and veggies are tender.Add oil if needed.
  • Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, until slightly thinckened - about 15 minutes.
  • Combine meat sauce and spaghetti in a 4 quart casserole dish lightly coated with cooking spray or oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Top with cheeses.
  • Bake, uncovered, until bubbly, 50 to 55 minutes. Let stand ten minutes before serving.

I originally found this recipe on allrecipes.com and changed it to fit our tastes. This is so versatile. Add or take away what your family likes or dislikes. The recipe should read 2 jars of spaghetti sauce...I apologize the amount hasn't been showing in the ingredients. I use Ragu or my own.
