This is for those folks who love sour. I made it with my Vitamix® blender, modeled after a recipe that I got at the smoothie shop.

  • Blend ice, orange, limes, lemon, kiwi, and honey together in a blender until smooth.

This came from Taste of Home's Quick Cooking and is much better than anything I've created on my own. The sauce is thick and gooy and goes well with so many things.

Steps:

  • Stir water, sugar, ketchup, pineapple, vinegar, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, steak sauce, and hot sauce together in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove 1/2 cup of the sauce to a small bowl; whisk cornstarch into the sauce in the bowl. Bring the sauce in the saucepan to a boil, stir the sauce with the cornstarch into the boiling sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before using.

  • Stir-fry sausage in a large nonstick skillet for 3-4 minutes or until lightly browned. Add onions and carrots; stir-fry until crisp-tender. Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Add pineapple to sausage mixture. , Combine cornstarch and ginger. Stir in the water, soy sauce and reserved pineapple juice until smooth. Add to the skillet. This sauce is more sweet than sour, but still has a good "twang" all the same. I used pineapple chunks because I had some leftover fresh pineapple in the freezer. You can used canned, if that's what you have, but the taste just doesn't compare to the fresh! If you prefer your sauce a bit less sweet, use canned pineapple and reduce the amount of brown sugar. We just loved this recipe, so I thought some of you might, too.

  • Place the fresh pineapple chunks, water, and cornstarch in a food processor.
  • Blend the pineapple mixture using medium to short pulses until the mixture is quite liquid.
