Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 3 (9 inch) pans.
- Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. Divide two thirds of batter between 2 pans. Stir instant coffee into remaining batter; pour into remaining pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely. In a measuring cup, combine brewed coffee and 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur; set aside.
- To make the filling: In a small bowl, using an electric mixer set on low speed, combine mascarpone, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar and 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur; beat just until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
- To make the frosting: In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium-high speed, beat the cream, 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar and 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur until stiff. Fold 1/2 cup of cream mixture into filling mixture.
- To assemble the cake: Place one plain cake layer on a serving plate. Using a thin skewer, poke holes in cake, about 1 inch apart. Pour one third of reserved coffee mixture over cake, then spread with half of the filling mixture. Top with coffee-flavored cake layer; poke holes in cake. Pour another third of the coffee mixture over the second layer and spread with the remaining filling. Top with remaining cake layer; poke holes in cake. Pour remaining coffee mixture on top. Spread sides and top of cake with frosting. Place cocoa in a sieve and lightly dust top of cake. Garnish with chocolate curls. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.
- To make the chocolate curls, use a vegetable peeler and run it down the edge of the chocolate bar.

THREE LAYER DESSERT
I have no idea where this recipe came from, but my mom has been making it for years. It has four layers but its name says three--go figure. I add some shaved chocolate on top of the Cool Whip for presentation.

THREE-LAYER BROWNIES
One of the few recipes I make using mixes and cans, this is a fantastic dessert. It tastes amazing, looks great, and is amazingly easy. And it disappears almost as quickly as I put it down. I got the recipe from a neighbor after 6 months of begging (and 2 weeks of cat, dog and rabbit sitting). She almost never gave it out because it was her most requested recipe and everyone always thought she worked for hours. Don't substitute regular or fudge for the dark chocolate brownie mix. It makes a difference in the final flavors. And make it the night before so the texture and flavors have time to set.

Steps:
- Prepare the dark chocolate brownie mix as directed on the package.
- When they are just done, remove from the oven, sprinkle with the peanut butter chips, cover with a cookie sheet and let sit for 5 minutes; remove cookie sheet and spread melted peanut butter chips over the brownies.
- Let cool until the peanut butter chips are firm enough to not get messed up when you frost them (put them in the refrigerator for a little while if necessary).
- When cool, frost with the cream cheese frosting and let sit at room temperature, uncovered, overnight so the flavors blend and the top of the frosting dries to a bit of a crust.
- Serve at room temperature.
- This is so good!
- *NOTE:These ingredients are to be used to prepare the dark chocolate brownie mix; if your mix calls for different amounts, use the package directions.

THREE-LAYERED DESSERT
This delicious dessert is simple to make and does not take very long. It combines a mixture of flavours and textures and it is, of course, a three-layered dessert! Try it!

Steps:
- Bottom layer: Melt the butter on a pan. Add the biscuit crumbs and mix well. Put the biscuit base into the bottom of a dish (circumference: around 20cm) and spread it evenly with the bottom of a spoon.
- Middle layer: Wash the strawberries, get rid of the storks and cut them into slices. Remember to cut one of the strawberries into a fan-shape. Put all the strawberries (except the fan-shaped one) on top of the biscuit base and spread them out, layering them if possible. Into a clean saucepan, empty the sachet, add the sugar and 200 ml warm water. Boil on a high flame, mixing all the time. When it starts bubbling, take it off, but don't put it in the dish. Wait for a couple of minutes, until it's almost set. Then, pour it over the strawberries, covering each one. Put it in the fridge for about 5 minutes.
- Top layer: Take the dessert out of the fridge and pour the custard on. If you want to, you can cook it, but it's just as good cold. You could do the custard yourself, but it would take longer.
- Decoration: Whip the cream with a mixer until it has the texture you want. Put it into an icing bag and decorate on top of the custard. I do it in a flower shape. I put a dollop where 12 is on the clock, one on 3, one on 6, one on 9 and one in the middle. On the middle dollop, spread the strawberry like a flan. You can put your dessert into the fridge for 2 minutes, but that's up to you. Serve it and enjoy!
3-LAYER BARS
My mom got this recipe 30 years ago from a friend of hers who was from Australia. I don't know if this is an Australian dessert, I have heard that it is similar to a Canadian dessert called Nanaimo bars, though. This is a Christmas tradition in my family, but is wonderful anytime!

Steps:
- First Layer - Mix all ingredients together to form a crumbly mixture.
- Press into the bottom of a 9 x 13" pan, pressing firmly.
- Place pan in the freezer to set while preparing the next layer.
- Second Layer - Mix the first three ingredients together, using enough milk to make a stiff, frosting-like consistency.
- If desired, add a drop of yellow food coloring.
- Do not add too much milk, you want the mixture to be pretty stiff, but still spreadable.
- Remove the pan from the freezer and scrape the second layer onto the first, spreading as evenly as possible, and then using your hands to press down to smooth.
- Return pan to freezer.
- Third Layer - Melt the chocolate chips together with the butter. You can use a double boiler, but I have had good luck using a small saucepan and very low heat, with stirring.
- Remove the pan from the freezer.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the second layer.
- Working quickly (before the chocolate sets), spread the chocolate layer evenly.
- Return the pan to the freezer for no more than a few minutes. You want the chocolate to begin to set before you cut the bars - but if you wait too long, the chocolate will be too hard and you won't be able to cut through it without it breaking. The point at which the chocolate loses its shine and takes on a dull appearance is the right time to remove the pan from the freezer and cut into small squares.
- After cutting, return to the freezer to harden completely, then remove from the pan.
- Store in the refrigerator.
