ZIPPER BAG CAESAR

Zipper Bag Caesar image

Steps:

  • Special equipment: a large, resealable plastic zipper bag
  • Add the mayo, milk, Parmesan, Dijon, Worcestershire, hot sauce, garlic salt, salt and a pinch of black pepper to a large resealable plastic zipper bag. Seal the bag while allowing in as much air as possible so that it's "inflated." Shake it vigorously to mix the dressing.
  • Open the bag and add the romaine and grape tomatoes. Add the rotisserie chicken. Break the Melba toasts in your hands and throw them in along with the extra Parmesan and another pinch of black pepper. Shake to coat everything. Roll down the edges of the bag and dig in.

2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan, plus extra for serving
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Dash hot sauce
Pinch of garlic salt
Pinch of salt
Black pepper
Shredded bagged romaine (1/2 bag)
A few grape tomatoes
1/3 cup shredded rotisserie chicken
4 to 5 pieces Melba toast

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chickpeas and season with the chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper and cook, shaking the pan occasionally, until crisp, about 12 minutes.
  • For the dressing: Add the Caesar dressing to a bowl. Stir in the pesto, black pepper to taste and chili powder, if using. Set aside.
  • Add the romaine to a large bowl. Add the dressing and toss to coat. Place on a platter, then drain the chickpeas on a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle the crispy chickpeas over the salad while they are still hot. Shave over the Parmesan and scatter the parsley leaves, then enjoy.

  • Add the oats, milk, half-and-half, brown sugar, vanilla, salt and apples to a large resealable plastic zipper bag. Mix, seal and soak for 10 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  • Top with the raspberries and sliced almonds and serve.

1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Steps:

  • Mix the apple jelly and 2 tablespoons water in a resealable plastic zipper bag until combined. Pour in the fruit, seal and toss with your hands. Add the mint leaves and serve.

Steps:

  • Wet the rim of a cocktail glass with the lime wedge; set aside for garnish. Place celery salt in a small dish, and press the rim of the glass into the salt to coat. Add ice to the glass.
  • Pour vodka, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce over the ice; top with tomato-clam juice. Garnish with lime wedge and celery stick. Serve with a straw.
