AFTERBURNER PETITE DILL PICKLES
These are sweet and then you get hit with heat! I posted these because I have many requests for the recipe. No canning needed! This is a very easy cheat recipe! A take off of Recipe #233463, using a lot less sugar! You are more then welcome to add more sugar. You can also use the same jar the pickles came in being you discard the juice it should fit.

Steps:
- In a large colander drain and mix the pickles and jalapenos. Discard juice.
- In a large jar layer 1/4 of the pickle and jalapenos with 1/4 of the sugar.
- Packing down as you add the rest of the layers.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 days. Giving it a shake whenever you go in the refrigerator.
- It will release juice. Now watch it disappear.

- Cut each cucumber lengthwise into six spears. In a large bowl, combine cucumbers, dill and garlic; set aside. , In a Dutch oven, combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cook and stir just until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cucumber mixture; cool., Transfer to jars if desired and cover tightly. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours. Store in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

- Add cucumbers, onions and green peppers (if using) in a large non-reactive mixing bowl. Sprinkle with kosher salt and stir to combine. Let sit for 1 hour. Transfer mixture to a colander to drain and rinse to remove excess salt.
- Wipe out the same mixing bowl, then add drained and rinsed cucumber mixture back to the bowl.
- In another small mixing bowl, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, mustard seed and celery seed. Stir together to combine. If the sugar isn't mixing well, add bowl to the microwave (make sure it's microwave-safe!), and heat for 30 seconds or so, until the sugar will dissolve into the vinegar when stirred.
- Pour liquid over the cucumber mixture in the bowl and stir to combine. Cover tightly and refrigerate for 1 full day. Transfer freezer pickles to freezer-safe containers and freeze for up to 6 months.
