APPLE PULL-APART BREAD

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in milk. Add 2 tablespoons butter, egg, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a stiff dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Combine the apple, pecans, cinnamon and remaining sugar; set aside. Punch dough down; divide in half. Cut each half into 16 pieces. On a lightly floured surface, pat or roll out each piece into a 2-1/2-in. circle. Place 1 teaspoon apple mixture in center of circle; pinch edges together and seal, forming a ball. Dip in remaining butter., In a greased 10-in. tube pan, place 16 balls, seam side down; sprinkle with 1/4 cup apple mixture. Layer remaining balls; sprinkle with remaining apple mixture. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 45 minutes. , Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes; remove from pan to a wire rack. Combine icing ingredients; drizzle over warm bread.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir just until moistened (dough will be soft and sticky)., Turn dough onto a floured surface. Roll into an 18x12-in. rectangle. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon to within 1 in. of edges; top with apples. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal. Using a serrated knife, cut into 12 slices. Place in a greased 13x9-in. baking pan, cut side down., In a small saucepan, combine sauce ingredients; bring to a boil, whisking to blend. Cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until thickened. Pour over top., Bake, uncovered, until golden brown and bubbly, 45-55 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

- Preheat oven to 375°. For syrup, place 1 cup sugar, water, 3 tablespoons butter and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil 3 minutes; remove from heat., Mix the remaining ½ cup sugar and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 21x14-in. rectangle; cut into 6 squares. Place an apple on each square. Fill center of each with 4 teaspoons sugar mixture and ½ teaspoon butter. Moisten edges of crust with water; bring up corners over apples, pinching edges to seal. Place in an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish., Pour syrup around apples. Bake until golden brown and apples are tender, about 45 minutes. Serve warm.

- Add all of the filling ingredients to a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples have browned and softened and the sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Using a paring knife, cut each biscuit in half horizontally to make 32 rounds (you should be able to cut them slightly and then pull them apart the rest of the way). Flatten each biscuit half with your hand to thin them out.
- One at a time, spoon about a tablespoon of the apple filling onto each biscuit half, and then stack the biscuit halves on top of one another to form stacks of four with filling in between. Place the stacks in the loaf pan, arranging so that no filling touches the edges of the pan. Repeat until the pan is full (but not too packed, you want to leave room for the biscuits to expand while baking). You may not need to use all of the biscuits.
