- Place coffee and nutmeg in a blender or food processor fitted with a steel blade.
- With processor running, add flavorings.
- Stop processor and scrape sides of container with a spatula.
- Process 10 seconds longer.
- Store in refrigerator.
- Yields: Mix for eight 6-ounce servings.
- To Use:.
- Place minimum of 1 tsp in a 1 cup measuring cup and add boiling water. Stir and strain into a 6 oz cup.
HOT BUTTERED RUM MIX
Hot Buttered Rum is the PERFECT drink for a cold winter day! These are what we always drink when there is snow on the ground but it's really a great drink for any day you feel like you need to nurture yourself! The mix without rum will keep for months in the refrigerator, ready for that perfect evening.... I wasn't sure how to post this with the rum so decided to post the mix separately as the mix makes way more than one drink!!

- Combine all ingredients except rum and mix thoroughly. Refrigerate until ready to use. Will keep for a very long time in the refrigerator.

My FIL enjoys this hot drink, but one year the commercial brand he usually had just wasn't available in our town. After trying out some other homemade mixes, I came up with this one. Easy to make for yourself or for a gift.

- Cream all ingredients together until well blended.
- Store in a glass jar with tight fitting lid. Keep in your refrigerator. Can also be frozen for longer storage. Makes a wonderful gift when packaged in a decorative canning jar.
- To make a mug of Hot Buttered Rum: Add one tbsp of mix to 3/4 cup hot water and 1 oz rum. (Adjust to your personal taste.).
