Steps:

  • En bowl, cremar mantequilla con nevazucar, vainilla y sal, hasta que este esponjoso. Mezclarle harina y nueces hasta que este bien unido. Cubrir y enfriar durante 30 minutos o hasta que este bastante firme como para manejarlo. Cortar pedacitos dela masa y, sobre superficie ligeramente enharinada, enrillar con las manos para formar rillos del grueso de 1 dedo. Cortarlos en tiras de 2" de largo. Redondear los bordes y darles forma de medias lunas. Colocarlas en lamina de galletas sin engrasar. Hornear en horno pre-calentado a 300°F por 18 - 20 minutos o hasta que esten firmes al tocarlas. Mientras esten calientes, revolverlas en azucar granulada. Colocarlas sobre rejilla para enfriar. Guardarlas en lata bien cerrada.

1 taza de Margarina suavizada
1/2 taza de azucar Nevada
2 cucharitas de vainilla
1/4 cucharita de sal
1 3/4 tazas de harina
1 taza de walnuts o almendras - molidas
1/2 taza de azucar

Steps:

  • Activate yeast.
  • In a large glass bowl mix sugar, salt oil, milk and flour. Knead until mixed. Add the egg and continue kneading, adding the yeast last.
  • Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for two hours.
  • Knead the dough again, and then divide it in half. Working with one half at a time, roll into a 10" circle. Cut the flattened dough into 8 triangles. Place ham in the widest part of each triangle. Then roll from the wide end to make a crescent. Place on a cookie sheet.
  • Cover the rolls with plastic and let rise for one hour in a warm place. Pre-heat oven to 350-375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Brush melted butter on each roll and bake 15 minutes or until they are light golden. Remove and brush with egg white. Return them to the oven until they are golden brown.

1/2 cup milk
2 1/3 cups flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup ham, finely diced (some people use deviled ham with good results)

My family love these cookies! We only get to eat them on Christmas though, in spanish we call this cookies 'deditos de nuez'. This recipe it's delicious, has few ingredients and it's very easy to make. Greetings from Mexico. =)

Steps:

  • Mix the margarine bars. It's important to use softened margarine otherwise the dough will be too sticky.
  • Slowly add the flour, mix until it's almost well combined, let a bit of flour aside to roll the dough later and to add to the cookies sheet if it's needed.
  • Add the sugar and mix until well combined.
  • Add the pecans and mix well. Roll the dough if needed, it shouldn't be sticky at this point.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 180ºC-220ºC.
  • Start making the fingers, size depends on preference.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes.
  • Let them cool down a bit and roll in the sugar and cinnamon mix while the cookies are still warm.
  • Enjoy!
