Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine flour and cheese. Stir in butter until combined. Gradually add milk just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times. , Roll dough into a 12x9-in. rectangle; cut into 3x1-in. strips. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand in the oven with the door slightly open until cooled completely. Store in an airtight container.

When Le Marcel Dog Bakery opened in Seattle 23 years ago, it was the only doggy- dining establishment in town - and it started with a single treat: peanut butter biscotti taste-tested by Leo and Marcel, the dachshund and Italian greyhound who inspired the shop. For more than a decade, owner Aki Zubovic operated out of a small storefront in Pike Place Market, but demand for his cookies soared, and in 2009, he moved the bakery to San Francisco, where he expanded his menu and space. He now sells more than six dozen sweet and savory treats, which pups can eat while playing on the bakery's private "Paw"tio. These beloved cheesy stars were inspired by a theory Aki rigorously tested over his 15 years of experience - that all dogs love cheese. Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350˚ F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the powdered cheddar, honey, applesauce and egg in a large bowl. Add the rice flour and mix with a rubber spatula until combined. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and roll out until 1/4 inch thick. Cut out stars with a 3-inch cookie cutter.
- Arrange the stars on the baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned on the bottom, 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer the stars to a rack and let cool completely.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- Combine flour, cheese, garlic and vegetable oil in food processor.
- Cover and process to a coarse meal.
- With machine running, slowly add water until mixture forms a ball.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to 1/2" thickness.
- Cut out bone shape using a cookie cutter or cardboard template.
- Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until bottom of cookies are lightly browned.
- Carefully transfer bones to wire rack to cool completely.
- Refrigerate in airtight container.

BACON CHEDDAR DOG BISCUITS
After so many scares of tainted pet food and recently tainted pet treats, I have started to cook my own treats for the mutts. They were already being fed homemade food so treats were the next progression. Since I have the fussiest dogs in the universe, finding treats (and food) recipes is always a challenge but this is one recipe that my guys appear to enjoy!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 165'C (325'F).
- Cook bacon until crisp. Crumble into pieces.
- In a large bow, combine rolled oats, margarine, bacon fat and boiling water. Mix well and let stand for ten minutes.
- Stir in the sugar, cornmeal, milk, cheeses, bacon crumbles, egg and 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules.
- Mix in the flour, one cup at a time until it becomes a firm dough.
- Knead dough on floured surface, mixing additional flour as needed to make a smooth and non-sticky dough.
- Roll out to 1/2" thickness and cut cookies with your favourite cookie cutter.
- Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until cookies become golden brown.
- Cool and serve.
