Chipotle Margaritas Recipes
CHIPOTLE GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITA
Steps:
- For the chipotle salt: Mix together the salt and chipotle powder on a plate.
- For the margarita: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the grapefruit juice, tequila, orange liqueur and chipotle powder. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.)
- Moisten the rim of a chilled rocks glass with one of the grapefruit wedges and press the rim into the chipotle salt. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass and garnish with the remaining grapefruit wedge.

- Muddle 4 thick orange slices, 1/4 teaspoon adobo sauce (from canned chipotle peppers) and 2 ounces lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Add 3 ounces tequila, 1 ounce orange liqueur and 11/2 ounces simple syrup. Fill with ice and shake. Strain into 2 glasses filled with ice; garnish with orange slices.

- Make the simple syrup: In a small pot, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
- For a salt rim: Rub a grapefruit or lime slice around the edge of the glass and then dip the rim of the glass lightly in a plate of kosher salt. Set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle grapefruit slices with chipotle juice and lime juice. Add tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup, then fill the shaker with ice. Shake thoroughly for 1 minute. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice, and garnish with a grapefruit slice. Enjoy immediately.
