Steps:
- Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl; pour flour mixture into a 4-cup glass jar. Layer brown sugar and superfine sugar in the jar, pressing firmly between each layer. Layer oats, cranberries, and chocolate chips. Seal jar.
- To make cookies: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Empty dry cookie mix in large bowl. Stir in butter, egg, and vanilla extract until combined. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
- Bake in preheated oven until lightly browned, 10 to 15 minutes. Cool on the sheets for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

- Mix the salt and baking soda with the flour, then layer the ingredients into a 1 quart, wide mouth jar. Use scissors to cut a 9 inch-diameter circle from calico. Place over lid, and secure with rubber band. Tie on a raffia or ribbon bow to cover rubber band.
- Enclose a card with the following mixing and baking directions: Chocolate Chip Cookies 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2. In a large bowl, cream 1 cup of unsalted butter or margarine until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix in cookie mix. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough, spaced well apart, onto a greased cookie sheet. 3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven, or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.

- Mix the salt and baking soda in with the flour, then layer the ingredients except for the instant coffee, egg, margarine and water into the jar so that would be Brown sugar, sugar, chocolate chips, flour mixed with salt and baking soda.
- Place the instant coffee in a snack size baggie and seal.
- Attach a gift card with the following instructions:.
- Coffee Chocolate Chip Cookies.
- Sift dry ingredients through a colander to separate the chocolate chips from other ingredients.
- Beat 1 cup of unsalted butter or margarine or butter flavored Crisco in a medium bowl.
- Dissolve the coffee in 2 tablespoons hot water.
- Beat sifted ingredients into butter until blended.
- In a small bowl, beat 1 egg with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Mix beaten egg mixture into butter mixture until blended.
- Add dissolved coffee and beat again.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop teaspoonsful of batter, spaced well apart, (or roll into balls) onto a greased cookie sheet.
- The cookie yield is approximate as I always make large cookies.
- Bake at 350-375 degrees F for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.

- If you are using vanilla powder, combing powder and baking soda with the flour. If using extract, combine soda with flour and extract with the brown sugar.
- To prepare the gift jar, layer the ingredients as listed, tapping down after adding each layer.
- Attach card with the additional ingredient list and cooking direcions.

- 3/4 cup butter, softened.
- 1/4 cup shortening, butter flavor is best.

- In a small bowl, stir together the flour and baking powder.
- Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar.
- Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient. It will be a tight fit.
- On gift tag write the additional ingredients needed (butter and extract), as well as these baking instructions:.
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F Empty this jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl.
- Mix well. Add butter and vanilla and stir until blended thoroughly.
- Shape into balls the size of walnuts, and place 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Flatten balls with the palm of your hand. Bake for 14 to 18 minutes or until edges are very lightly browned.

- Using a 1 quart jar, layer in the ingredients in the order given.
- Pack down the jar after each addition.
- Replace the lid and cover with an 8 inch circle of fabric.
- Secure the fabric with a rubber band, cover the rubber band with a piece of ribbon or raffia around the lid.
- Attach a tag to the ribbon with the following instructions:.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
