BOB EVANS SAUSAGE GRAVY (COPYCAT)

This is a hearty breakfast favorite. Biscuits served with hot sausage gravy are a sure way to stay satisfied until your next meal. Wonderful Sausage Gravy that has been posted by Bob Evans.

Bob Evans Sausage Gravy (Copycat) image

Steps:

  • Crumble and cook sausage in large skillet over medium heat until browned. Stir in flour until dissolved. Gradually stir in milk. Cook gravy until thick and bubbly. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve hot over biscuits. Refrigerate leftovers.

This is one of the recipes using Bob Evans Sausage along with ground beef. My town was the place where he had his very first restaurant. It was one of the small cafe like truckstops with the bar stools at the counter. His farm is here also, which is a tourist attraction. This recipe was found online at Bob Evans website.

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine first five ingredients. Form into 8 patties.
  • Over medium heat on grill, cook burgers on each side until done (no longer pink), about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve with buns and favorite toppings.

Copycat Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sausage image

Steps:

  • To make the sausage base, in a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients until well-combined and as smooth as possible. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 3 hours in the fridge, or overnight.
  • Portion out the sausage into rounds and pat out into thick patties. Set a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sausage in batches, until browned on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
  • To make sage sausage, add in the chopped sage to the sausage base from above and cook as directed.
  • To make hot sausage, add in the cayenne pepper, chili pepper, and red pepper flakes to the sausage base from above and cook as directed.
  • To make maple sausage, add in the maple syrup and maple extract (if using) to the sausage base from above and cook as directed.
