CRUNCHY GRANOLA
This stuff is addicting! I don't remember where I got the recipe, but I have been making this since I was a teenager. The measurements for the oats and coconut are just guidelines; you can adjust it to your liking or what you have on hand. Let me know how you like it.

This is a healthier trail mix-style granola with many crunchy clusters. The fat is lower than many recipes and it has lots of healthy grains, nuts and dried fruit.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 300°F.
- Mix oats, flax, wheat germ, almonds, pecans, salt and brown sugar in a large bowl. Wisk to combine the oil, honey and egg white, then pour over the oat mixture. Stir well until ingredients are evenly coated. It may seem too dry but keep stirring.
- Spray oil on a jelly roll pan and add the granola mixture. Bake 20-30 minutes, until the edges are browned and it smells toasty. To make clumps don't stir during baking. Cool and allow the granola to harden. Break into smaller pieces and add the fruit. Store airtight for two weeks.
- The dried fruit may hydrate the granola so it loses some of its crunch. If so just pop it back in a 300F oven for about 10 minutes.

CRUNCHY HOMEMADE GRANOLA
Cinnamon, nutmeg and honey add a dash of heartwarming charm to this crunchy homemade granola. "We like it over yogurt or milk, but it's also good on it's own as a snack," promises Oshkosh, Wisconsin's Margaret Potempa. New dietary recommendations encourage half of the grains in the diet to come from whole grains like the oatmeal in this recipe. Try sprinkling this granola on yogurt, salads, ice cream and baked winter squash to help meet your dietary goals.

Steps:
- Mix all ingredients together well and heat oven to 150 degrees Celsius (medium heat)
- Use a baking tray and baking sheet (i prefer that so the honey doesn't stick or burn quickly on the tray) . Simply spread out on the tray evenly so its not in a big clump, don't be too fussy about this step the heat evens it out as the honey melts . bake for 10 minutes
- Take the baking tray out of the oven and stir up the granola you will find some are browner that other parts, thats ok as the parts on the sheet have browned a little, just mix well and make sure all is evenly spread out and that there are no big clumps together and bake for another 10 minutes
- Take out of oven and leave to cool , the longer you leave it the more crunchy it gets as honey hardens on the granola. When cooled, simply use your hands to break it up into desired size
CRUNCHY GRANOLA
This recipe is a combo of Food Network hosts Kathleen Daelemans and Paula Deen. Great snack with added dried fruit. Great topping for yogurt. Or I like it with milk as cereal.

CRUNCHY GRANOLA BARS
I love those nature's valley crunchy granola bars and I also like those sweet and salty granola bars as well as fruit granola bars! But notice how you can't seem to get everything you want in a granola bar without sacrificing the healthy aspects. Anyhow, I adapted this recipe from one off a blog I stumbled across (http://katescreativekitchen.blogspot.com/2009/03/sweet-and-salty-granola-bars.html--she has other good recipes to offer also!).

CRUNCHY GOLDEN TROPICAL GRANOLA
I love tropical fruits for many reasons-they are sweet and juicy, have a luscious texture and fragrance, can be used in both savory and sweet dishes and they store well in the freezer. When tropical fruits are not in season, I buy them dried to make a granola that I can enjoy any time of the year. Coating the granola with finely ground banana chips is one way I ensure every bite has that punch of tropical flavor!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Put half of the broken banana chips in a food processor. Process until finely ground to the consistency of breadcrumbs. Alternatively, crush the chips in a resealable plastic bag with a rolling pin. Set aside.
- Combine the remaining broken banana chips with the oats, dried pineapple and mango, macadamia nuts, coconut chips and sesame seeds in a large heatproof bowl. Set aside.
- Stir to combine the coconut oil with the maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ground ginger and salt in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until just warm, about 2 minutes. Pour into the large bowl and stir to combine, ensuring everything is evenly coated. Sprinkle with the ground banana chips and stir again to evenly coat the granola.
- Spread the granola on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Bake until evenly golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes, stirring 3 times (about every 10 minutes), to ensure it toasts evenly. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before storing.
- Enjoy the granola as is, in milk or as a topping for yogurt, parfaits, smoothie bowls, ice cream or fruit salad.
