- Prepare brownies according to package directions. Bake and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch cubes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and pudding mix until mixture begins to thicken. Dissolve coffee granules in water and stir into pudding mixture. Fold in whipped topping.
- In a glass serving bowl, layer one-third of brownie cubes, one-third of pudding mixture and one-third of candy. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used. Chill 30 minutes in refrigerator before serving.

This is a modified Pampered Chef recipe. You can use a trifle bowl or large glass punch/salad bowl to show it off. It is really easy to make and I never have any leftovers. Cook time includes chill time.

Steps:
- Prepare/Bake brownies according to cake-like directions.
- Cool completely.
- In separate bowl, whisk pudding mix with milk until it begins to thicken (or mix with mixer--i like to use my Kitchen Aid mixer).
- Dissolve coffee granules with warm water, then add to pudding mixture, mixing well.
- Fold in whipped topping.
- Cut brownies into 1 inch cubes.
- Layer 1/3 of brownie cubes into bowl, top with 1/3 of pudding mixture, pressing lightly, and 1/3 of chopped toffee.
- Repeat layers 2 more times.
- Chill 30 minutes before serving.

I thought chocolate would go well with Twinkies and the whipped topping would be light enough to reduce the sweetness. Everyone enjoyed the dessert...after all, how can one not enjoy a Twinkie?" - Cut 10 of the Twinkies in half lengthwise and arrange standing upright, filling side in, around a 4-quart trifle bowl or a deep glass bowl.
- In a bowl, combine the pudding mix and milk and stir according to the package instructions.
- Crumble the remaining 10 Twinkies, reserving 1/2 cup for the topping.
- Place half of the Twinkie crumbs in the bottom of the trifle bowl.
- Layer with half of the chocolate syrup, half of the pudding, half of the whipped topping, and half of the crushed candy bars.
- Repeat the layers of Twinkie crumbs, syrup, pudding, and whipped topping.
- Combine the remaining crushed candy bars with the reserved 1/2 cup Twinkie crumbs and sprinkle over the trifle.
- Refrigerate for 4 to 5 hours before serving.

- Break up the trifle sponges and place them in a large glass serving dish. Crumble the amaretti cookies over them and then sprinkle with amaretto or sweet sherry.
- Squeeze the juice from 2 of the mandarins and sprinkle into the dish. Segment the rest and out them in the dish.
- Make the custard. Melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl over hot water. In a Seperate bowl mix the cornstarch, sugar and egg yolks to a smooth paste.
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan until almost boiling then pour in a steady stream onto the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly. Return to the clean pan and stir over low heat until the custard has thickened slightly and is smooth.
- Stir in the mascarpone until melted, then add the melted chocolate, mixing it thoroughly. Spread evenly over the trifle, cool, then chill until set.
- To finish, spread the fromage frais over the custard, then decorate with chocolate shapes and remaining mandarin slices just before serving.

This is a simple different recipe,and the beauty of it is you can make it well in advance and freeze it until the day you want to use it.I got the recipe a number of years ago from a friend and is a favourate to make as something different at Christmas.I often split this quantity into two smaller dishes,as I tend to have a number of different deserts at Christmas,so have one left for another day.
