  • Take a cue from the Australians and make fairy bread for your next party: It has been a popular children's birthday treat Down Under for generations, and we think it'll go over just as well with kids (and adults!) here. To make it, spread softened butter on untoasted white bread and top with sprinkles. Rainbow nonpareils (or "hundreds and thousands," as Aussies say) are classic, but you can also use jimmies or sanding sugar in any color.

This is a great Aussie kids party favorite, we were all brought up on it. Bread is spread with margarine and topped with colored sprinkles, or if you are in Australia, 100's and 1000's. It's a loved recipe.
