BEST GRANOLA FORMULA

Steps:
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large saucepan, combine the honey, barley malt syrup and fruit juice concetrate. Heat over medium heat until you can stir the mixture easily, but before it starts to boil, about 5 minutes.
- Place the oats in a large mixing bowl. Add the honey mixture and stir rapidly and thoroughly to coat the oats. Spread them in a thin, even layer on a large nonstick baking sheet (you may need two). Place it in the oven and bake until the granola is crisp, no more than 15 minutes. Watch carefully, or the granola may burn.
- Remove the baking sheet to a cooling rack. Let the granola cool thorougly on the baking sheet. Place the granola in a large bowl, break up any large chunks, stir in the raisins and transfer to a tightly covered container.
GRANOLA
This is a recipe which believe it or not I got in the 7th grade during home ec. It is a really easy and great snack. I recommend it for all ages and also as a kid-friendly recipe. ** I have made changes to this recipe to make it easier to follow....I apologize for any confusion! Let me know if it happens again!

Steps:
- Pour oatmeal into a glass microwaveable dish and cook for two minutes; stirring once. (YES microwave the oats! I'm not sure why, but this is how I learned to do it in my 7th grade home ec class and it has worked for me every time).
- Combine all other ingredients into a bowl.
- Add in oatmeal.
- Stir until well blended.
- To finish, use either the microwave or oven. Both methods are listed below --
- Microwave method: Pour mixture into a glass dish and microwave on high for 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Stir every minute.
- Cool on wax paper.
- Enjoy!
- OR --
- Oven method: Pour mixture into a large cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Stir every 5 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup of raisins.
- Cool on wax paper.
- Enjoy!

- In a large bowl, combine oats and almonds; spread evenly in a 15x10x1-in. baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes. , In a large bowl, combine the honey, Grape-Nuts, butter and cinnamon. Add oat mixture; stir to combine. Return mixture to the pan. Bake 15-20 minutes longer or until golden. Cool on wire rack., When cool enough to handle, break granola into pieces. Place in a large bowl; stir in the Wheaties, cranberries, raisins and banana chips. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2 months.

BAKED HOMEMADE GRANOLA (LOWER FAT)
By making your own granola you can reduce the fat and increase the richness of nuts and seeds. This is great alone as a snack or on top of yogurt or anything! For the mixed nuts and seeds you can use all or a mixture of slivered almonds, coarsley chopped walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.

Steps:
- Set oven to 300 degrees.
- Place oven rack to center position.
- Lightly oil two large baking sheets.
- In a large bowl stir together oats with nuts, seeds and spices.
- In a small bowl stir together the warm water with maple syrup and vanilla.
- Slowly pour the syrup mixture over the nut mixture; stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
- Spread out on the greased baking sheet/s.
- Bake (center oven rack) for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent burning, until granola is crumbly and golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately stir in the raisins and apricots.
- When the mixture is cool, store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or refrigerate for 1 month.
- Delicious!

- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone liner.
- Combine brown sugar, maple syrup, oil, and salt in a bowl. Add oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and coconut. Mix well, making sure all ingredients are coated evenly.
- Pour onto prepared baking sheet and distribute in an even layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes lightly with the tines of a fork so mixture toasts evenly and granola is golden brown.
- Pour into a bowl and, while mixture is still hot, mix in currants. Cool. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
