Freckled Lemonade ( like red robins) image

Steps:

Prepare lemonade according to directions
Add thawed strawberries with syrup
mix well
Put ice into glass and fill with lemonade garnish with lemon slice.

1 - fresh lemon cut in thin slices

FRECKLED LEMONADE

This recipe is from my Hungry Girl cookbook, and it was co-developed with Weight Watchers. Only 27 calories per drink and absolutely delicious! I just take a Crystal-Lite lemonade packet and measure out 1/2 teaspoon each time. I also just add splenda from the bag, to taste, instead of buying the individual packets.

Steps:

In tall glass, combine drink mix, soda, and sweetener with 1/4 to 1/3 cup water (depending on how sweet you like your lemonade). Stir until drink mix has dissolved.
Pour the lemonade mixture into a blender. Add frozen strawberries and ice to the blender. Blend until smooth.
Pour into your glass and sip away.

Steps:

In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup water and lemon zest. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in lemon juice and remaining water. Pour into a 2-qt. pitcher; refrigerate until chilled. , Stir in rum. For each serving, place 3/4 to 1 cup ice in a Collins or highball glass. Pour lemonade mixture into glass. Garnish with lemon slices as desired.

Combine the sugar and water in a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir well to ensure all of the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the mixture from the heat and chill it for at least an hour in the refrigerator.
Once the mixture has cooled, combine the sugar-water mixture with a pinch of salt and lemon juice in a pitcher. Store lemonade covered in the refrigerator.
