Steps:
- Place the beef in a large pot over medium-high heat and cook until browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain off the fat. Add the green peppers and onion and cook, stirring, until they soften slightly and are combined with the beef, a couple of minutes. Add the garlic and stir into the mixture for another minute or so.
- Add the ketchup and 1 cup water and stir to combine. Add the chili powder, brown sugar, dry mustard, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire and hot sauce. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 20 minutes.
- Spoon a good amount of the meat on the bottoms of the slider buns. Place a good pinch of the fried onions over the top and place the tops of the buns on the sliders. Serve with the red grapes on the side.
SLOPPY JOE SLIDER BAKE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Without separating rolls, cut rolls in half horizontally; arrange bottom halves in a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Top with half of cheese slices; set aside., In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender, 6-8 minutes, break up beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce and pepper. Cook and stir until combined, 1-2 minutes. Spoon beef mixture evenly over rolls; top with remaining cheese. Replace top halves of rolls. , For glaze, stir together butter, brown sugar, mustard, soy sauce and garlic powder. Brush over rolls; sprinkle with sesame seeds and minced onion. Bake, uncovered, until tops are golden and cheese is melted, 15-20 minutes. If desired, top with pickle slices., Freeze option: Cover and freeze unbaked sandwiches; prepare and freeze glaze. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Pour glaze over buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds and minced onion. Bake sandwiches as directed, increasing time by 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and a thermometer inserted in center reads 165°.

- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add the ground beef and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Using a spoon, break up the meat and stir until browned.
- Add the onion and garlic and continue to cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, and brown sugar.
- Stir until the meat is fully cooked and sauce is evenly combined. Set aside.
- Cut the dinner rolls in half and place the bottom half in a baking pan.
- Top with meat and sprinkle with cheese. Place the top of the rolls back on top.
- Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until rolls are toasted and cheese is melted.
- Cut into individual sliders.
- Enjoy!

- In a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker, combine the ground beef, garlic, celery, peppers, onions, tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, dry mustard, onion powder, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Mix together with a wooden spoon, making sure to break up the ground beef. Set the machine to high and cook for 4 hours.
- Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the buns to make sliders.
EASY CHEESY SLOPPY JOE SLIDERS
This recipe is quick and delicious, and it makes a fun dinner for the kids or a great game-day nosh to share. The sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge; simply reheat when you're ready to eat. The onion, green pepper and garlic can even be chopped in a food processor to reduce prep time.

- Cook the beef in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Carefully drain excess fat from the pan. Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic and cook until fragrant and the veggies soften, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the ketchup, hot sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire and brown sugar. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the veggies are tender and the mixture has thickened, 15 to 20 minutes. If the mixture seems too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons water. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat the broiler. Place the buns cut-side up on a baking sheet and sprinkle both sides with the cheese. Broil until the cheese is bubbly and melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture on the bottom halves of the buns, close the sandwiches and enjoy immediately.

- Prepare the sloppy joes: In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, combine the canola oil, bell peppers, jalapeno and onion; cook for 5 minutes. Add the beef; cook thoroughly, breaking up the meat as it browns. Add the garlic. Depending on the amount of residual grease, you may need to drain some of the fat from the pan. Deglaze with the red wine, then stir in the remaining sloppy joe ingredients (except the rolls) and season with 1 tablespoon each salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. If the sauce gets too thick as it simmers, add up to 1 cup water to adjust the consistency. Toast the rolls and set aside.
- Serve the sloppy joes on the toasted rolls.
