CHICKEN PARMESAN BAKED ZITI RECIPE BY TASTY

Here's what you need: ziti pasta, chicken breasts, tomato sauce, mozarella, parmesan cheese, fresh basil, salt, pepper

Chicken Parmesan Baked Ziti Recipe by Tasty image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Boil pasta for 10 minutes, then drain.
  • Dice chicken breasts and cook thoroughly. Add tomato sauce, then add cooked pasta and mix until the pasta is coated with sauce.
  • Pour half of the pasta into a greased 11x7-inch (27x17 cm) or 9x13 inch (22x33 cm) baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with 1 cup (100 G) of mozzarella cheese, ½ cup (55 G) of parmesan, ⅛th cup of basil. Layer the remaining half of the pasta evenly on top. Sprinkle evenly with the remaining cheese and basil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, remove and sprinkle immediately with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Boil pasta until cooked all the way through.
  • Drain, and pour into a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  • Cut chicken strips into bite size pieces.
  • Add to pasta.
  • Pour sauce and half of the cheese over the pasta.
  • Stir until well mixed.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese starts to brown.

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop in pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain.
  • Meanwhile, put olive oil and minced garlic in large skillet. Cut chicken into small pieces and brown in skillet. Add tomatoes and rosemary and stir together. Parboil broccoli (by partially cooking it in boiling water, just to soften) and add it to the chicken mixture. Pour cream over all, stir together and bring to a simmer. Add chicken mixture to cooked pasta and toss to coat. Top with cheese and serve.

  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon oil in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium high. Once the butter is melted, add the chicken and sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon salt and black pepper. Saute until the chicken is golden on the outside and completely cooked through, about 5 minutes. With a large spoon, remove the chicken to a plate and cover to keep warm. Set aside.
  • Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons butter and the onion. Cook until the onion begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Do not let the onion brown (adjust the heat as needed if it starts to brown). Add the garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and remaining ¼ teaspoon salt. Stir and cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Slowly stir in the broth and milk. Bring to a boil, then add the ziti. Let the ziti boil for 5 minutes, then stir in the broccoli florets. Continue boiling until the ziti is al dente, about 5 to 7 minutes more. Stir often to make sure the ziti cooks evenly. If at any point the pasta looks too dry, splash in additional milk as needed.
  • Stir in the artichoke hearts, lemon juice, Parmesan, parsley, and reserved chicken. Taste and adjust seasoning as you like. Enjoy hot, with a sprinkle of extra Parmesan and parsley as desired.

  • Meanwhile, in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add in the cubed chicken and seasonings and cook until the chicken is cooked all the way through. If there is any excess liquid in the pan, drain and discard it.
  • Add in the marinara sauce and reserved pasta water and bring to a simmer. Then, add the chicken and sauce mixture to an oven safe glass baking dish. (4.8 quart/10x15 recommended, needs to be fairly large to fit everything!)
