Lavender Lemonade image

Steps:

  • Place the lavender in a pitcher; pour the boiling water over the lavender; cover with plastic wrap and allow to steep 10 minutes; strain and discard the lavender from the water and return the water to the pitcher. Add the cold water, lemon juice, and sugar to the pitcher and stir until the sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until serving.

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups water, peaches and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until peaches are tender. Remove from the heat. Cool. Strain, discarding peach skins., In a large pitcher, combine the peach mixture, lemon juice and remaining water. Add lemon slices and mint if desired. Serve over ice.

Steps:

  • In a pitcher combine lemon juice, peach nectar, simple syrup and white grape juice. Transfer mixture to a serving pitcher. Pour into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with melon balls and lemon slices, if desired.
  • FOR ONE SERVING:.
  • For a single serving in a tall glass combine 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/3 cup peach nectar, 1/3 cup Chamomile-Lavender Simple Syrup, and 1/4 cup white grape juice. Add ice. Garnish with melon balls and lemon slices.

PEACH AND LAVENDER ICE

  • Puree peaches with sugar until smooth. Stir in lavender blossoms, and let stand at room temperature for 2 hours. Stir in lemon juice and water, then place into refrigerator and refrigerate until cold, about 2 hours.

  • In a large heavy saucepan, combine the milk, cardamom pods and lavender. Split vanilla bean and scrape seeds; add bean and seeds to milk mixture. Heat until bubbles form around sides of pan. Remove from the heat; cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain, discarding flowers and spices., Return milk to the heat; stir in sugar. Cook until bubbles form around sides of pan. Whisk a small amount of hot mixture into the egg yolks. Return all to the pan, whisking constantly., Cook and stir over low heat until mixture is thickened and coats the back of a spoon. Quickly transfer to a bowl; place in ice water and stir for 2 minutes. Press waxed paper onto surface of custard. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight., Fill cylinder of ice cream freezer two-thirds full; freeze according to the manufacturer's directions. When gelato is frozen, stir in peaches. Transfer to a freezer container; freeze for 2-4 hours before serving.
