Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix the first six ingredients. Add nuts; toss to coat. Spread onto a 15x10x1-in. baking pan. , Bake at 300° for 35-40 minutes or until nuts are lightly toasted and appear dry, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Toss the nuts in a large bowl to combine and spread them out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter.
  • Thoroughly toss the toasted nuts in the spiced butter and serve warm. And once you eat these, you will never want to stop.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Butter a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Put walnuts and pecans in a resealable bag and seal; crush nuts using a rolling pin.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion and garlic in the hot oil until onion is translucent, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms, marjoram, sage, and thyme; cook and stir until mushrooms are golden, about 5 minutes. Transfer mushroom mixture to a large bowl.
  • Stir crushed walnut mixture, Swiss cheese, wild rice, cottage cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper into mushroom mixture until evenly mixed. Pour mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until loaf is golden brown, about 1 hour. Let loaf cool in pan for about 20 minutes before inverting pan and removing loaf.

Sweet, Salty, Spicy Party Nuts image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • Combine walnut halves, pecan halves, almonds, and cashews in a large bowl. Add salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper; toss to coat.
  • Heat sugar, water, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until the butter is melted. Cook for 1 minute and remove from heat. Slowly pour butter mixture over the bowl of nuts and stir to coat.
  • Transfer nuts to the prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer.

Steps:

  • Heat ghee in a skillet over medium heat and shallow-fry cashew nuts until fragrant and lightly toasted, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from skillet and dry on paper towels. Steps:

  • Grease a 9-inch square pan. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the brown sugar. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the milk and continue cooking, stirring until the mixture boils. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  • Gradually add the confectioners' sugar until the mixture is of fudge consistency. Add the nuts. Spread in the prepared pan and cool.

GRANDMA'S HICKORY NUT CAKE

This recipe's more than a recipe to us-it's a family tradition, three generations old. The frosting's a must-otherwise it's not the "true" cake! We have a timber stand with hickory trees on our farm, so getting enough nuts is easy. The problem is finding someone to crack and pick them and the "someone" usually ends up to me! Steps:

  • Cream together sugar and butter for cake. Add eggs; beat on medium speed of mixer for 2 minutes. Mix dry ingredients together lightly with fork. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix well. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased 13x9-in. baking pan. , Bake at 325° for 45-50 minutes. (Cake may be baked in 8-in. layer pans.) Cool. Make frosting by melting butter in a medium saucepan. Add brown sugar; boil 2 minutes. Add milk; bring to boil. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm. Beat in sugar and vanilla.   • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat so the maple syrup doesn’t get stuck to the pan (this is important). Pour the almonds, pecans and pepitas onto the pan and set it aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the optional rosemary (or any other added seasonings), maple syrup, melted butter, salt, vanilla, and cayenne (if you using). Gently whisk until blended.
  • Pour the mixture over the nuts on the prepared baking sheet. Stir well, until all of the nuts are lightly coated. Spread the mixture in a single layer across the pan (the maple syrup will pool on the bottom of the pan, but that’s okay).
