- Whisk together first 6 ingredients. In another bowl, whisk together egg, water, milk and vanilla; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened., In a deep cast-iron or electric skillet, heat oil to 375°. Dip candy bars, a few at a time, into batter; fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds per side. Drain on paper towels., Insert skewers into bars. If desired, dust with confectioners' sugar.

MILKY WAY BALLS
These are similar to Rice Krispie Treats--in ball form-- only these are all chocolate and appear to have been on steroids! I LOVE Milky Ways and I found this recipe on a chocolatier supplier site. I was so excited by the whimsy of this recipe that I made these right away and knew I had to share! *Yield varies depending on how big or small you shape these.*

- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows and Milky Ways, stirring, until the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the cereal.
- Lightly butter your hands; roll the Milky Way mixture into balls.
- (**You can, at this point, roll the candy into powdered sugar, cocoa powder, or a mixture of the two, if desired.**).
- Let candy cool on waxed paper.
- Store in an airtight container.

- Break the candy bars into bits and drop them into a saucepan. Add the butter and melt, over lowish heat, stirring frequently with a rubber spatula. When everything is melted (the nougat-like layer takes the longest to go), tip in the cereal and turn them, with your rubber spatula, in the chocolate mixture until they are all pretty well coated.
- Fill the mini muffin papers with the mixture and put in the refrigerator, on a small sheet pan or tray, for at least 1 hour.

- Coarsely crush as many malted milk balls as you would like for topping.
- Combine first 4 ingredients and 1 Tablespoon caramel sauce in blender; process on high speed until thick and smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Squirt chocolate syrup and caramel sauce into glasses.
- Pour in mixture and top with malted milk balls.

Steps:
- Chill the chocolate bar by keeping it in the fridge, but don't freeze it.
- Mix the flours and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) together.
- Add milk (traditional) or beer (which gives a lighter result) until you get a batter with the consistency of thin cream.
- Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will brown in a few seconds, but don't allow to smoke.
- Remove wrapper from chilled chocolate bar.
- Coat completely in batter.
- Carefully lower into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Serve, with ice cream or french fries, if you're so inclined.
