Steps:

• 1. Combine sugar, flour, meal, and mix. Add melted butter and mix. Add eggs, then buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well and pour into unbacked pie shell. Bake at 325 for about an hour or until set. You may also add 1 c. coconut or 1 c. drained crushed pineapple for variation.

• 2. Melt butter, add other items. Put into a unbaked pie shell. I think she used a 9" shell.
• 3. Bake at 300 degrees for 30-50 minutes.This will be a custard-like pie.

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and cornmeal. Add beaten eggs and milk, and mix well. Stir in vinegar and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Pour into the pie crust and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Turn oven temperature down to 325 and bake for additional 40 to 45 minutes or until center of pie is set. Turn oven off and let the pie cool in the oven.

• Add vinegar.
• Pour into pie shell.
• Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 300 degrees F for 40 minutes.
• Let cool.
• Cut and top with whipped cream.
