Steps:

- 2. Transfer the pears to a serving dish and boil the pomegranate juice until syrupy and reduced to ½ cup, about 10 minutes. Discard the spices; let the syrup cool slightly.
- 3. Arrange 1 pear half and 1 ice cream scoop in each serving dish. Drizzle the syrup on top and serve immediately.
- Tip: The pears and syrup can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days before serving with ice cream.
PEAR SAUCE
This is a good way to use your ripe or over ripe pears. I use this for my pear bar recipe. It can also be used in preparing low fat baked goods. Make a lot and freeze it while the pears are in season.

RED HOT CINNAMON PEAR SUNDAES
Red hot cinnamon candies have been 1 of my favorite ingredients since my childhood & SusieQusie can tell you that pears have also been favored in recent yrs. This is the 2nd of 2 recipes I've entered that feature cinnamon candies & my source is eatcannedpears.com. (Time does not include time for sauce to cool)

PEARS PANOS
Bosc Pears make their own light syrup right on the stove top. Add a touch of vanilla and orange liqueur, and you have an autumn dessert that won't weigh you down.

Steps:
- Peel the pears. You can halve and core them, or leave them whole: just carefully core the blossom end of each pear and remove the seeds.
- Place the pears into a large saucepan. Fill with enough water to cover the pears by 1 inch. Stir in the sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered until the liquid has reduced into a light syrup; this may take up to 1 hour. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Cool until just warm, then stir in the liqueur and serve.

PEAR SAUCE
Serve this sweet sauce with breakfast breads or on top of oatmeal. If you prefer a chunkier sauce, start with slightly smaller pieces of pear, and don't use a food processor.

Steps:
- In a medium saucepan with a lid, combine pears, 1/4 cup water, lemon zest, and 1/8 teaspoon coarse salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cover, and cook until pears are soft, 10 to 12 minutes. Uncover, and coarsely mash with the back of a spoon. Continue cooking until most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer mixture to a food processor, and blend until smooth; add lemon juice and honey to taste. Serve warm, or let cool, then cover and refrigerate up to 1 week. Use as you would applesauce.
