HOT DOG PIE
My 12 year old daughter Deidra brought the basic recipe home from an after-school cooking class and I jazzed it up a bit! If you can't find a deep-dish pie crust, use 2 regular ones.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Bake empty pie shell for 10 minutes.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, stirring occasionally to crumble; drain fat. Stir in hot dogs, beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, taco seasoning, and cheese cubes. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Spread beef mixture into baked pie shell. Cut American cheese slices into strips, and make a lattice on top of pie.
- Bake for 5 to 10 minute, or until cheese is slightly melted.

- In a large saucepan, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add the hot dogs, beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard and cheese cubes. Cook and stir until cheese is melted., Meanwhile, prick pastry shell with a fork. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Fill with hot beef mixture. Cut each cheese slice into four strips; make a lattice topping over pie. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

My mother made this for me when I was a kid and it's just great. She's had this recipe forever and still makes it today. If you like hot dogs, then you're gonna love this! : ) We serve it with hot corn or string beans on the side. You may also use seasoned ground beef instead of hot dogs, if you wish.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Unroll one of the crescent dough tubes and separate triangles.
- In a 9-inch pie plate, press pieces together to form a crust.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced hot dogs, 2 eggs, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese and black pepper, if desired.
- Pour into crust.
- Unroll the second crescent dough tube and cut into long strips.
- Crisscross strips to form a lattice top; flute edges.
- Bake uncovered, 30-45 minutes, or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes.

- Grease 9x13 casserole.
- Combine baking mix,mustard, and water in a small bowl.
- Stir until dough forms.
- Press dough into bottom and up sides of dish with fingers dipped in bisquick.
- Cut hotdogs length wise and then in half.
- Place hotdogs on dough.
- Spoon chili over and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 20 mins or until heated.

- Begin by making cream sauce. In a small sauce pan melt butter over medium heat.
- Blend in flour with a whisk stirring to work out lumps and cook for 2 minutes.
- Blend in dry mustard.
- Slowly add cream or half and half whisking all the while. Continue stirring until this begins to thicken, but do not boil, reduce heat temperature if necessary to keep from scorching.
- Continue to cook and stir 2-3 minutes until thickened, and smooth.
- Remove from heat, set aside covered while you prepare pie.
- For pie: Combine chicken and oysters and spread in first pie crust.
- Drizzle butter over, then season with salt and pepper.
- Pour prepared cream sauce over chicken and oysters.
- Cover with second pie crust and seal edges with a fork, cut a crisscross vent hole in center top crust for steam.
- Bake at 375 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes.
- Pies that are allowed to set for 15 minutes or so will set up a little for slicing.

- Add curry paste, tomato, milk, water and spices and mix well stirring occasionally.
