CRESCENT ROLL BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
I got this recipe from having a Pampered Chef party and it was enclosed with my purchase of the Deep Dish Baker. I've made this many times and it's easy and quick and can even be made for supper.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Separate crescent dough into 2 large rectangles.
- Place in an ungreased deep dish baker.
- Press over the bottom and half way up the sides to form a crust.
- Seal perforations.
- Slice sausages and arrange over crust.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the cheese.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
CRESCENT ROLL CASSEROLE
Too easy to be so good. When I made this my picky daughter said on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 40. I have revised the spices after reading the reviews. If you do not have Italian Seasoning available you can use 1/4 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp basil, 1/4 tsp thyme, & 1/4 tsp marjoram.

Steps:
- Brown beef until no longer pink then drain excess grease.
- Add the tomato sauce, olive oil, spices, & 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese to the beef. Simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat & stir in the sour cream.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F Lightly spray an 8x8 baking dish.
- Pull the crescent rolls apart but leave them in rectangle shape. (There should be 4 rectangles).
- Lay 2 of the rectangles in the bottom of the pan, side by side. Gently spread out to fit the bottom of the pan.
- Cover the crescent rolls with 4 slices of provolone cheese. (The cheese on the bottom helps keep the crescent rolls from becoming soggy from the sauce).
- Next add the beef mixture & then 4 more slices of cheese. Take the remaining 2 rectangles on top of the last layer of cheese.
- Lightly brush the melted butter over the crescent rolls & sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
COPYCAT PILLSBURY CRESCENT ROLLS
Similar to the tubes of crescent dough you can buy at supermarkets. This dough can also be used in other recipes that call for Pillsbury crescent roll dough. The recipe makes the equivalent of 2 tubes of storebought dough. Be sure not to skip the step where you brush the dough with butter before baking. ***TIP***: For foolproof rising conditions, place dough in a large greased bowl, covered, in a cold oven. On the bottom rack, fill a 9x13 inch pan with boiling water and close the door. The moisture and heat makes for perfect results every time.

- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tbsp of the sugar in the warm water. Let sit until foamy - 10 minutes
- In a separate bowl, combine remaining sugar, salt and 3 cups flour. Using the paddle attachment, once yeast is foamy, stir in beaten eggs followed by shortening and butter. Next, add flour mixture using the dough hook. Turn out onto floured surface and slowly add the last cup of flour, kneading to achieve a smooth, elastic consistency. Be careful not to add too much flour. Use as little as possible - you may not need to add all the flour.
- Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top of the dough. Let rise in a warm place (85 degrees F) until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. ***TIP*** At this point if you want to use the dough for something other than crescents, such as other recipes using Pillsbury crescent dough, you can shape it as desired.
- To form crescents: When done rising, divide in half, rolling each half into a 12-inch circle 1/4 inch thick. Spread with the soft butter and cut each circle into 16 wedges. Roll up each wedge beginning at the largest end and place, point side down, on a greased baking sheet. Curve to form crescents. Cover and let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until
- rich golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
- **You can do this recipe by hand, although I find a stand mixer to be much quicker.
PILLSBURY CRESCENT ROLLS
I got these at recipegoldmine. They don't taste like crescent rolls to me. I modified it a little bit, but they are very good. My son Dave loves crescent rolls and I'm always in search of the perfect one. lol The prep time is a guess--your house is probably warmer than mine, but it needs to double two times

Steps:
- In large bowl dissolve yeast in warm water with the honey to proof.
- Stir sugar, salt, eggs, lard and 1/2 flour into yeast mixture; add remaining flour and blend till smooth.
- Cover with wet towel in warm place till doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Divide dough in half and roll each into 12 inch circle, 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread with butter and cut into 16 wedges.
- Roll up each wedge beginning at the largest end.
- Put on baking sheet.
- Cover until double, about 1 hour.
- Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes (watch the bottoms as they burn).
- Brush with butter.

MAGGIE'S CRESCENT ROLL CASSEROLE
I love using crescent rolls! This is comfort food at its best. This is very filling and adaptable. I like to use Ore Ida potato rounds instead of the tater tots. It would be very easy to change a few things to your liking. Simple to make. Could be easily doubled using a 9 x 13 pan.Recipe makes about 4 servings.

- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Bake tater tots on a baking sheet for about 8 minutes.
- While potatoes are baking, melt butter in a large skillet. Saute mushrooms,onion and garlic about 4 minutes. Remove from skillet.
- In same skillet brown ground beef.Mix in mushrooms, onion and garlic. Add sour cream,cream cheese and seasoning.Mix well and remove from heat.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
- Place 1/2 crescent rolls in bottom of 9 x 9 pan leaving the dough in the rectangle shape. Seal seams together.
- Place potato rounds on top of crescent rolls. Put meat mixture on top of potato rounds. Add shredded cheese. Top with remaining crescent rolls again leaving dough in rectangle shape and sealing seams.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.

- Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles; drain. Pour over sausage and cheese., Bake, uncovered, 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving., Make-Ahead: Refrigerate unbaked casserole, covered, several hours or overnight. To use, preheat oven to 375°. Remove casserole from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake as directed, increasing time as necessary until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
