Steps:
- Soak the bread crumbs in the milk while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Put the beef and pork into a large bowl. Add the onion, butter, eggs, and parsley and season well with salt and pepper. Put the soaked bread crumbs into the bowl and mix it all together well with your (clean) hands. Form the mixture into meatballs about the size of ping pong balls.
- Heat about 1/4-inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 15 minutes.

Steps:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet set over medium heat. Cook the onion and garlic until softened but not browned. Let cool and transfer to a large mixing bowl. Squeeze the excess milk from the bread and add the bread to the bowl. Add the beef, egg, oregano, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix by hand until smooth. Form into little meatballs, about 1 ounce each.
- Heat the remaining 1/4 cup oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Dust the meatballs in flour and shallow-fry them until golden brown. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
- To serve: Place on a platter and garnish with lemon wedges and torn mint leaves.
SCHULER'S FAMOUS MEATBALLS
Shuler's is a very well known restaurant in Michigan with great food. It's nice to have a few of their recipes! Found in March 30, 2004, Detroit Free Press with this quote: "Schuler meatballs are tender, not chewy or crispy. To achieve this, use fresh bread crumbs. A couple slices of tender white bread processed in the food processor should do the trick." I've not made this yet.

STARR'S SAVORY MEATBALLS
This is my version of meatballs based on experimentation from several different recipes, including my mother's. I like to use these in spaghetti sauce, of course, but they're also delicious in my meatball subs. You can double or triple the recipe - sky's the limit! - and freeze.
