TRI-TONE JELLO

This is a delicious and fun Jell-O dish. I made it with orange and apricot because it was for Halloween; I poured it into jack-o-lantern shaped muffins molds. It can be made in any mold and with other flavors to celebrate other holidays. I recommend lime/cherry for Christmas, or blue raspberry/lemon for a 'pc' holiday celebration, blue raspberry/punch for Independence Day. If you don't like the cheesecake flavored pudding, any white or light yellow flavor could be used. Please let me know if you make this with a kosher or vegetarian brand how it turned out.

Tri-Tone Jello image

Steps:

  • Mix pudding powder and milk and stir for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  • Separate 3/4 cup of pudding and set aside in refrigerator.
  • Mix 2/3 cups boiling water with apricot flavored Jell-O for two minutes, and when cooled a bit mix with remaining pudding, refrigerate.
  • Mix remaining boiling water with orange powder for two minutes.
  • Add cold water and mix well.
  • Pour into molds to fill about half way.
  • Refrigerate until mostly firm.
  • Stir apricot/pudding mix to liquefy, spoon into molds until each is about 3/4 full.
  • Refrigerate to firm again.
  • Spoon pudding into molds to fill completely.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Before serving you may wish to gently warm the molds on the bottom with warm water.
  • Turn upside down to serve. The pudding may mush out but this is like a yummy sauce. (Tre Chic!).

Steps:

  • Dissolve Jell-O gelatin flavors separately, using 1 cup boiling water for each. Stir marshmallows into lemon gelatin, set aside. Add 3/4 cup cold water to lime gelatin, pour into a pan. Chill until set, but not firm. Add 3/4 cup cold water to raspberry gelatin, set aside at room temperature, then add cream cheese to lemon mixture, beat until blended, chill until slightly thickened, then, blend in mayonnaise, whipped cream and crushed pineapple, chill until very thick, spoon gently over lime gelatin, chill until set but not firm. Meanwhile, chill raspberry gelatin until thickened, pour over lemon mixture gelatin, chill until firm. To serve cut in squares.

But, any way you slice it -- spread some fruit preserves over cake, top with a gelled fruity confection, sweetened, stovetop-thickened milk, and whipped cream -- and you've got trifle!

Steps:

  • Slice cake and spread pieces with jelly or jam. Sandwich pieces of cake together and arrange pieces in bottom of glass trifle bowl or other glass serving bowl. Prepare the gelatin according to package directions and pour over cake. Refrigerate until set, 2 hours.
  • Pour prepared pudding or custard over the set gelatin. In a medium bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form. Spread over pudding. Sprinkle with chocolate and chill in refrigerator until serving.

15-minute Jello Trifle image

Steps:

  • Drizzle cake cubes with liqueur or juice.
  • Fold 1/2 cup whipped topping into prepared pudding.
  • Sprinkle strawberries with sugar.
  • Assemble trifle by layering into deep glass bowl, half each of cake cubes, pudding mixture, strawberries and chocolate.
  • Repeat layers, ending with chocolate.
  • Top with additional whipped topping; garnish with additional whole berries.
  • Chill.

Jello and Cool Whip Easy Chocolate Trifle image

Steps:

  • Pour 2 1/2 cups milk into large bowl.
  • Add 2 pkgs jello instant chocolate pudding.
  • Beat with whire whisk until well blended.
  • Mix in 1 tub cool whip topping, thawed.
  • Layer brownie cubes, pudding and cool whip mixture, raspberries or strawberries and additional cool whip in large glass bowl as desired.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve.

Steps:

  • Mix cherry jello and 1 1/4 cups hot water. Pour in pan, I used a 8x11 glass pan.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Whip lemon jello and 1 1/4 cups hot water.
  • Cool to room temperature
  • Whip cream cheese with this,.
  • and pour on cherry jello.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour, or longer.
  • Mix lime jello and 1 1/4 cups hot water.
  • Let cool, and pour lime jello over layers, and let set in refrigerator.
