Watermelon Cocktail With Gin Recipes
WATERMELON GIN AND TONIC
Pretty much an amazing summer drink. All the perfection of a great gin and tonic, but with a little twist. Plus, it looks pretty! I like this drink sitting in the backyard while grilling anything! I think it also makes a good winter drink when you need a quick 'get-away,' as long as you can find the watermelon!

Steps:
- Squeeze lime into cocktail glass and drop lime wedge into the juice; add watermelon and enough ice to fill glass to top. Pour gin and tonic water over the watermelon and ice; stir.

WATERMELON COCKTAIL WITH GIN AND BASIL
Steps:
- Put 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and a small bunch of basil in a small saucepan. Boil until sugar dissolves, discard the basil and chill. Peel 1 small watermelon (3 pounds), and cut the flesh into large chunks. Purée them in a blender until smooth. Pour the purée through a fine-mesh strainer, and discard the solids. Combine the juice with the chilled basil syrup and about 1/2 cup gin. Serve over ice.

- Prepare the watermelon juice. Add watermelon chunks into a blender pitcher, and blend on high for about 30 seconds until smooth throughout. Pour over a mesh sieve into a large glass. Set aside.
- Add mint leaves, cucumber, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Using a muddler, muddle them all together very well. Add gin, 1 cup of watermelon juice, and about 6 ounces of ice cubes (large handful.) Stir well.
- Add a handful of ice cubes to two cocktail glasses. Pour the cocktail evenly amongst the two glasses. Garnish with fresh cucumber slices and mint sprigs.
