Steps:
- Pour whipping cream into stand mixer bowl and start on medium speed. You can also use a traditional bowl and hand mixer.
- Add the powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time followed by the sugar, and salt.
- Once the ingredients are mixed in, increase the speed and whip to a slightly firm consistency. You don't want super stiff cream since this isn't for frosting.
- Add the butterscotch caramel topping and continue beating to desired consistency. I try to go for something a little stiffer than Cool Whip but looser than frosting.
- Spoon 1-2 teaspoons into a cold mug or glass. Pour the chilled cream soda into the glass stirring somewhat slowly with a spoon. You don't want make the two things one but stirring it will build a better head. Once the head starts to form pretty good, you can stop stirring.
- Serve cold and enjoy.
- Notes: You can put the unused cream into a plastic container and it will keep in the fridge for a few days. I have tested several brands of cream soda (IBC, Sprechers, Frostop) but the one that tastes the closest to what you will get at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is definitely Boylan's Cream Soda. I use Mrs. Richardson's Butterscotch Caramel Topping and pink sea salt. I do know that the WWHP uses a non-dairy topping and I'm on the hunt for Rich's Whip Topping but no luck yet!

- Fantastic Butterbeer & Where To Find It. Now that you’ve got the basics, here is where to find every version of Butterbeer. Cold and frozen Butterbeer can be found at the red Butterbeer carts, which may or may not have a shorter line than the indoor locations.
- Butterbeer Merch. Yeah, there’s actually merchandise for a fictional drink. We really shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s kind of impressive that people buy it.
- Too Sweet? You like butterscotch but don’t like an overwhelmingly sweet taste? Or do you crave that teeth-rotting goodness? Fear not, there’s literally a Butterbeer for everyone.
- What Does It Taste Like? Honestly? It depends on what kind of Butterbeer you get. The base of all Butterbeers is butterscotch, so you always have that sweetness to count on.
- A Butterbeer Float! Sorry for all the Disney Parks fans, but it’s not a parade float. Seriously, what do we have to do to get a Harry Potter parade? (Though rumor has it that the land may be operating during Halloween Horror Nights.
- It’s Solid & Frozen. But wait, there’s more! The frozen Butterbeer option can also be found at the carts, so remember to specify which one you want. There’s a difference.
- It’s Hot & It’s Cold. Yes, there is a hot version that will warm you up from the inside out! And no, it’s not a seasonal item anymore... for Hollywood. Sorry, Orlando.
- Putting the Beer in the Butter. That being said, there’s a great way around this. You’ll never hear or see it advertised by anyone in the park due to both brand integrity and legal reasons, but you can DIY your own adult version of Butterbeer.
- No Beer in the Butter. To clarify: Butterbeer does not contain alcohol. As irresponsible as the canon wizarding world seems to generally be, they don’t actually give alcohol to school children.

In your Butterbeer mug, pour in 2 tbsp of the creaming soda syrup, 2 tbsp of butterscotch syrup, and top with soda water. Give it a stir.
