Zebra Crinkles image

Steps:

  • Mix granulated sugar, oil, vanilla and chocolate in large bowl. Stir in eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheet. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls into powdered sugar; roll in sugar to coat. Shape dough into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on cooling rack.

GINGER CRINKLES

Posting this as a candidate for my Christmas cookie trays. You can omit the chopped crystallized ginger and increase the ground ginger to 1 1/2 teaspoons, if desired. I have not yet tried these but would welcome feedback if you get to them before I do. Preparation includes 20 minutes freezing time.

Ginger Crinkles image

Steps:

  • Beat brown sugar and butter at medium speed of a mixer until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg white and continue beating. Stir in crystallized ginger.
  • Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour, wheat germ, baking soda, ground ginger, and cinnamon. Stir into molasses mixture. Cover bowl and freeze 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Lightly coat hands with cooking spray. Shape the dough into 30 balls, about 1 tablespoon each. Roll the balls in the granulated sugar. Place the balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets coated with cooking spray.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Cool cookies on pans for 3 minutes. Remove from pans, and cool the cookies completely on wire racks.

This is just a spin off of the very good Fudge Crinkles recipe by Karen=^..^= I've just been asked for the recipe so many times that I though I should post it. It makes 40-48 cookies and really couldn't be any easier.

Butter Pecan Crinkles image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Stir (by hand) dry cake mix, oil and eggs, toffee bits, pecans in a large bowl until dough forms. I really don't measure the toffee and pecans, just judge what I feel is the right amount.
  • Dust hands with confectioners' sugar and shape dough into 1" balls.
  • Roll balls in confectioners' sugar and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until center is JUST SET.
  • Remove from pans after a minute or so and cool on wire racks.

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and add cooking oil and granulated sugar.
  • Add one egg at a time, mixing well.
  • Add vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt; mixing well after each additional ingredient.
  • Chill for several hours or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  • Roll dough into balls about 1/2 inch in diameter. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the cocoa mixture. Cover dough, and chill for at least 4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Roll dough into one inch balls. I like to use a number 50 size scoop. Coat each ball in confectioners' sugar before placing onto prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand on the cookie sheet for a minute before transferring to wire racks to cool.
