Steps:

  • Place ribs in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over ribs., Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 6-7 hours.

4 pounds bone-in country-style pork ribs
1 cup ketchup
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon molasses
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

ZIPPY COUNTRY STYLE RIBS image

Steps:

  • 1. Cover ribs with unsalted water in large pan. Simmer on burner for for one hour, drain well.
  • 2. Stir together mustard, soy sauce, horseradish,honey and ginger. Brush over drained ribs. Grill over hot coals or broil 15-20 minutes, turning often and brushing with sauce. Serve with slaw, baked beans, potato salad, garlic toast, and ice tea. Apple Pie and Ice Cream for dessert.

3-4 lb country style spare ribs
1/4 c prepared mustard
1/4 c soy sauce
2 Tbsp drained, prepared horseradish
2 Tbsp honey
1/4 tsp ground ginger

Steps:

  • Cut ribs into 6 serving size pieces. Place in a large Dutch oven. Add sliced onion and water to cover the ribs. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 45 minutes. (If the ribs are already cut, decrease your cooking time in this step or they will fall apart -- only cook about 20 minutes.) Drain ribs, and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the chopped onion, saute until tender. Add the minced garlic and cook 1 minute more. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Remove the sauce from the heat, and set aside.
  • Grill the ribs over medium coals for 20 to 30 minutes or until desired degree of doneness. Turn and baste frequently with the sauce.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • In a shallow baking pan or roaster, place ribs in a single layer; salt if desired. Spread the garlic on the ribs, then place the lemon slices on top. Bake in a preheated oven for 2 hours - the ribs should be tender. Drain any grease and liquid. Pour BBQ sauce over the ribs. Return to oven and bake one more hour at 200 to 250 degrees F.

  • Line a baking sheet with a cooling rack. Working in batches, season the pork ribs on all sides with kosher salt and black pepper and lightly toss in flour. Transfer the ribs to the baking sheet and set aside.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of the oil to a large cast iron skillet or dutch oven (with a lid) over medium/medium high heat. When the oil is warm and shimmering, brown the ribs in batches, turning on all sides until golden, about 15-20 minutes per batch. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan or the ribs will steam and won't get that delicious golden crust.
  • Transfer the browned ribs back to the baking sheet and wipe any burned pieces out of the pan. Add the remaining oil, and continue browning the rest of the ribs.
  • While the ribs are cooking, mix the BBQ sauce ingredients together and preheat the oven to 325°F.
