Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9x12" pan & set aside. May want to line with foil because the sugar will caramelize.
  • Rinse chicken and pat dry. Combine the dressing & sugar, mixing well. Dip & press chicken into mix, coating all sides. Put in pan. Sprinkle remaining mix over chicken.
  • Cook for 50-60 minutes or until chicken is done. Turn & baste every 15 minutes ending last 15 with topside facing up.

3 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken
1 (1/8 ounce) package Italian salad dressing
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly butter a baking dish.
  • Stir 1/4 cup melted butter and salt together in a bowl.
  • Arrange chicken in the baking dish. Brush butter mixture onto the chicken until thoroughly coated, pouring any extra over the chicken.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 30 to 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

This recipe sounds crazy, but it totally works. The sauce is neither too sweet nor too salty. Yummy and pretty enough for company. Easy and uses ingredients I always have on hand. You can use less chicken and the same amount of sauce ingredients; just use a smaller baking dish so sauce doesn't burn. Good served with rice to soak up all that delicious sauce. If you don't have whole berry sauce, jellied sauce works too. I've sometimes added some dried cranberries for visual interest, but they're not necessary.

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 12 inch x 9 inch pan and set aside, and/or it may be preferable to line your dish with aluminum foil as the sugar tends to caramelize while baking. Rinse chicken, pat dry with paper towels. Combine and the dried Italian seasoning mix and the brown sugar, mixing together well. Dip and press the chicken pieces into the mixture, coating front and back and place into your prepared pan, topside of the chicken facing up. Any extra coating that remains can just be sprinkled over the chicken.
