APPLE 'N' PORK BURGERS
This pork burger recipe is a favorite of ours. We had a similar burger in Hawaii and once home, I experimented and came up with this tasty version that we actually prefer to the original. I like to serve them with a salad or fresh corn on the cob. -Trisha Kruse, Eagle, Idaho

- In a small bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble pork over mixture; mix well. Shape into two patties. , Grill, covered, over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°. Top with cheese. Grill 1-2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. , Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato, avocado, mustard and mayonnaise if desired.

APPLE & MUSTARD PORK BURGERS
A thrifty supper recipe for two. Serve your herby burgers with a tzatziki potato salad

- Heat the grill to medium-hot. Boil the potatoes for 20-25 mins or until tender.
- Meanwhile, use your hands to squeeze any excess juice from the apple, then place in a bowl with the mince, onions, breadcrumbs, mustard, parsley and some seasoning. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until well combined. Add half the egg (reserve the rest for Chinese leaf pork wraps, see 'goes well with') and mix again. With clean, wet hands (to prevent sticking), shape the mixture into 2 burgers. Grill the burgers on a foil-lined tray for 18-20 mins, turning once until golden.
- Drain the potatoes, toss in the tzatziki straight away and serve with the burgers and rocket, if you like.

- Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix together ground pork, apple, onion, garlic, teriyaki sauce, and egg. If too dry, add some juice from the can of pineapple slices. Form into eight patties.

- Rub the pork steaks with a little oil and season with pepper and salt to taste. Heat a large frying pan and fry the steaks for 2 mins on both sides until golden. Transfer to a plate. Adding a little more oil to the pan, fry the apples, onions and sage for 5 mins or until the apples have softened.

- Heat half the oil in a large frying pan. Core and cut the apples into wedges, then cook for about 10 mins until caramelised and softened. Remove from the pan and set aside. Heat the remaining oil. Fry the pork on each side for 2 mins. Add the stock and mustard to the pan, then bubble for 5 mins or until the pork is cooked through. Return the apples to the pan with the sage and cook for 1 min more.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the crème fraîche and some seasoning.

- Divide the sausagemeat into four portions and shape into patties. Fry in a non-stick pan for 10-12 mins, flipping a couple of times, until golden on both sides and cooked all the way through.
- Heat grill to high. Slice the buns in half and toast under the grill, cut-side up.
- Spread the bottom halves of the toasted buns with the marmalade, then add the burgers, apple slices, rocket, mayonnaise and mustard (if using). Top with the bun lids and serve alongside sweet potato wedges, if you like.
