- Place the milk, eggs, butter, brown sugar, salt, bread flour and yeast, in the order listed, in the bread pan fitted with the kneading paddle. Secure the bread pan in the Cuisinart® Automatic Bread maker. Press the menu button to select the Sweet program. Press loaf size and crust color buttons to select both size and crust preference. Press Start/Stop to mix, knead, rise, and bake. When the mix-in tone sounds, add the apples, walnuts and raisins. When the cycle is complete, remove the bread pan from the machine and transfer bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

A quick and delicious bread for bread machines. The applesauce makes it nice and moist without having to add any butter or shortening.

Steps:
- Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select cycle; press Start. Let the dough mix for 3 to 5 minutes, until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. If necessary, use a rubber spatula to push the dough from the sides of the bread pan. After 3 to 5 minutes have passed on the clock display, press Stop. Smooth out the top of the loaf with the rubber spatula. Select Bake setting and press Start.
- To test the bread for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center top. Remove the toothpick. If the bread is done, the toothpick will come out clean. If there is dough on the toothpick, reset the machine to Bake and continue an additional 10 to 15 minutes. Test again with toothpick to assure the bread is completely baked. Remove the pan from the machine but allow the bread to remain in the pan for 10 minutes before removing the bread and placing on a wire rack to cool.

BUTTERY APPLE LOAF
I walked in my kitchen while this was baking and I thought I would melt and run down in my shoes. It smelled SOOO good in there...the apples..the cinnamon...HEAVEN! I cannot take credit for this, however. I got it from an e-zine I get in the email. I immediately got in my car and bought the ingredients, came home, and whipped this up. Since I'm diabetic, I'll be sending it off to Pop's for the shop monkey's (the shop mechanics/my taste-testers) approval. If they like it, it's a keeper!

- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray the largest loaf pan you have. (original recipe calls for a 9 x 5, but I used a 12" and it was almost too small!).
- Stir together the strudel topping; set aside.
- Beat the eggs lightly with a fork to blend. Stir in butter and milk. Add flour and sugar, stir with a spatula until moist (batter will be lumpy).
- Layer 1/2 the batter, apples and strudel: repeat layers. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about an hour. Cool ten minutes in the pan; remove and let cool completely. Serve with ice cream.

SOFTEST SOFT BREAD WITH AIR POCKETS USING BREAD MACHINE
I played around with basic white bread recipes quite a bit and finally have come up with the perfect soft, fluffy, white bread with air pockets. Maybe a little too soft to slice right away.
