All-American Barbecue Sandwiches image

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onions until meat is no longer pink and onion is tender; drain. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Heat through. Serve on buns.

Steps:

  • Rub roast with salt and pepper. Place in a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low 8-10 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roast; cool slightly. Skim fat from cooking juices. Slice beef; return beef and cooking juices to slow cooker. Add barbecue sauce; heat through. Place croissant bottoms on a baking sheet; top with cheese. Broil 4-6 in. from heat until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes. Top with beef; if desired, serve with optional toppings. Replace croissant tops.

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, onion, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, celery seed, paprika and pepper; pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is tender., Remove meat. Skim fat from cooking juices; transfer to a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; gradually stir into juices. Return to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened., When meat is cool enough to handle, shred with two forks. Bistro-Style Beef Steak Sandwich image

Steps:

  • Stack beef steaks; cut lengthwise in half and then crosswise into 1" strips.
  • Heat 1 Tbl. olive oil in non-stick skillet over med-high heat til hot.
  • Stir-fry beef strips and garlic (1/2 batch at a time), 1-2 minutes or til outside surface is no longer pink.
  • Remove from skillet and season with 2 Tbl. soy sauce and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to medium.
  • Add 2 teaspoons oil to pan (if needed), and stir-fry onion 5 minutes.
  • Add mushrooms and continue cooking 2-3 minutes or til veggies are tender.
  • Add red pepper, wine and remaining 1 Tbl. soy sauce, bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and return beef to skillet.
  • Heat through.
  • Pile beef mixture onto bottoms of rolls.
  • Top each with 2 slices cheese.
  • Place on cookie sheet with tops next to bottoms cut side up, and broil just til cheese is melted and inside tops are lightly toasted.

  • Place roast in a large covered pan. Roast at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 2 hours, or until the meat falls apart and shreds easily.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, and saute until onions become translucent.
  • Stir in vinegar and chili sauce. Fill empty chili sauce bottle with water, shake, and pour liquid into skillet. Mix in brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic. Cook sauce over low heat, stirring often, until thickened.
