EDIBLE BLOODY MARY ON A STICK

We served these appetizers at a dinner party we catered and the only problem was, we ran out! They are awesome! You can make up the skewers ahead of time for your guess or allow them to do make up their own. Feel free to use any flavor of vodka you like. Plain, citrus, etc. Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Rinse tomatoes and removes stems.
  • Skewer tomatoes 6 times with a toothpick.
  • Place the tomatoes in a bowl and cover with vodka. Allow to marinate for several hours. *Drain off the vodka and reserve for drinkable Bloody Marys.
  • For skewers:.
  • Place small green stuffed olives in bowl #1.
  • Place cheddar cheese cubes in bowl #2.
  • For dipping:.
  • Combine the salt and thyme in a small bowl #3.
  • Place celery salt into small bowl #4.
  • Let your guests skewer the tomatoes, cheese and olives and dip in their favorite seasoning.

Steps:

  • Purchase some wooden skewers and cut them in 1/2 (5"-6" long) or leave them long (12"). Assemble the cherry tomatoes, sliced dill pickles, olives, celery, dilly beans, and any of your favorite veggies or seafood onto the skewers like kabobs. Before serving place the kabobs on a platter and sprinkle with celery salt or use as a garnish with a Bloody Mary cocktail. You will be the hit of the party. Enjoy this delightful cocktail on a stick. Don't waste the vodka that the veggies were soaking in, use that in your Bloody Mary Drinks! That would be Alcohol Abuse if you waste it! ENJOY!!!

1 pint of cherry tomatoes, (pierce the skins of cherry tomatoes with a fork).
Sliced dill pickles
Green olives
Dilly beans
Pickled onions
Pickled brussel sprouts
Celery
Pepper rings
Any veggie you like
Marinate all the veggies in a container filled with either lime flavored vodka or regular vodka, along with a teaspoon of horseradish, a teaspoon of worcester sauce, and 3-6 shakes of Tabasco sauce. For added zest add a splash of dill pickle juice.

Steps:

  • Cut the celery in large dice, including the leaves, and puree in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade. Add the horseradish, onion, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, kosher salt, and Tabasco and puree it again. Pour the tomato juice into a 2 1/2-quart container, stir in the celery and seasonings mixture, then add the vodka and chill. Place a few ice cubes in each glass, pour in the Bloody Mary mixture, and garnish with a celery stick.
